unbalanced wheels and the diffs
unbalanced wheels and the diffs
i think i know the answer to this but i figured i'd ask to be sure. is it bad for the diffs when the tires shake because they are unbalanced? driving around in winter a lot of times there is buildup of ice and snow in the tire so at certain speeds it'll shake pretty bad. i don't think it's a problem other than the discomfort because the wheels are still travelling at the same speed but i just wanted to make sure
An inbalance will cause anything to shake apart eventually. The Diffs are a long way down the line from the tires though. The vibration caused by out of balance of wheels would be mostly absorbed by the suspension and outermost driveline.
