First time I saw an Evo

My first time...
The first time I saw an EVO was when I was getting my Eclipse GSX serviced at the dealer. It came right off the truck and I just was in shock and got to be the first one to test drive the car after they preped it. It was so new that the suspension was a bit bouncy because it had not setteled in yet. I knew that I wanted to get it and a few days later, I was driving home in it. The sales person just put a dealer plate on it and said take it home and see how you like it.
They knew me there and my uncle was the parts manager so my credit was more than good. My wife whas like WTF, "what do you mean they just gave it to you and let you drive it home???"
After that day I put 1/2 of the car down in cash and drove it home for good!
Went so crazy I got a snow tire / rim set for the winter. And after that I got a second set of stock rims and tires for the car.
(I won't even tell you about the spare drivetrain I got just for the fun of it)

The first time I saw an Evo was the same day that I picked up the OZ back in 02...I immediately started looking up everything I could on the lancer and came across the almighty Evo.
I've seen Evo's for years since I'm from Singapore but I truly fell in love with them when I was visiting my dad in the hospital in Singapore and saw a blue TME Evo 6.5 in the doctor's parking lot. I knew then that the Evo was the car for me!

My uncle was the parts manager and I made a few friends in the shop. He is no longer there but I still get good deals.
I had my wife's OZ rally timing belt done at 65K and he told me the parts cost about $140 so I gave him $200 for the job. He is also cutting rotors and will do the brakes and trans service next weekend. I wonder how much I will pay him for the brakes and the 60K service. I think about $200 - $300.
It saves me a few bucks and that is what I need with another kid on the way.
Before I got the car they told me to get it "before you have kids". I don't think I would have it if I waited after having a child. Boy were they right. I am going to keep this car as long as I can becuase I don't think I will get another sports car as nice as this one!
Speaking of dis**** parts. I got my trunk for $250 and painted for $150, which totaled $300 for the sleeper trunk which I have off right now. I change it twice a year and I might keep the wing on till the late spring. Funny huh?
Last weekend I put on the CF Cusco rear strut tower brace and I think I can tell it cut into the corners better. Or is it in my head? The only drawback is that my sub does not fit twords the back any more. I thought it would fit under the bar - but nope!

My first time seeing an Evo was while watching WRC coverage on Speedvision. Then I decided I would buy a Sony Playstation for the simple fact that Gran Turismo looked like the greatest ever. I was mostly into computer gaming, and didn't think it would be worth my time. A friend gave me a broken Playstation and I sent it in to Sony and they fixed it for like $65 bucks or something. I was amazed how far I got in the game with the first used Evo I could get. From then on it was one of my favorite cars. At the time I never had any idea I'd one day be selling them or any desire to be a Mitsubishi (or any) salesman.
My first time seeing an VIII is documented somewhere on this board in an old thread. I took pictures of the first four we got off the truck. Felt like a kid at Christmas even though they weren't mine. I knew I'd have one some day, just had to be patient.

I did not know that you were not alowed to use another persons picture. I changed mine from the ones EvolutionM.net provided as I have seen it used by several other people.
Even the pulp fiction picture I use - I have seen it used by other people as well. There are a few pictures that other people share and I did not realize that only one person can use it as it is "owned" by one person.
I must have missed the rule that you can't use a picture that you like from another post, picture, group or movie.
Where do people get them from anyway?

So I see that you are using the same picture that he is using. I understand that he is your bro, so you must have asked him to use his right?
When I found it, I was on another forum and i did not take it from his profile on this one. I also saw a few other people using it on this forum (I can't remember who the users were) but thought it looked like a good one to have.
I did send him a PM asking if I can use it and if he says that I can't use it I won't. I don't want to cause any bad vibes, but it is the only one thatI thought looked cool.
In the meantime, I have changed it to my old boring one which comes included in the site. I guess I will need to find one that I like and that no one else is using.
Oh well. I did enjoy having it for the limited time I had it.

Most of the people didnt knew what an EVO was (including myself) before the GT game appeared, then i started to look for info about it...and found out so much about the car, that quickly became on of my favorites.
When the Mitsu and the press started saying that the VIII was going to make it to the US, i began to save money.
The first one that i saw was a RR in the Detroit Auto show( i took a flight from San Juan, to Detroit to see it, god i am sick )and fell in love with it....got back home and the next day put a deposit for one
