I was looking at a pic of someone's oz and his graphics reminded me of the first time I ever saw an evo. I was watching tv maybe 5 years ago and a Jackie Chan movie was on, I can't remember which one it was (maybe someone else here has seen it and can remind me). Anyway it was one of his fight scenes and the bad guys took off in their fast cars (probably with his girl) and he jumps in this evo. I didn't know what it was of course cause I'd never seen one, but I was so impressed by the way it was driven. It was going through one of those european towns with the thin windy streets. It was so fast and gripped the road in all the curves. Of course the bad guys couldn't get away from him. I still remember making a mental note when the camera got close enough for me to see the badging. I remember thinking that I wish we had that car in the U.S. and that I wanted one so badly.
I own a ralliart now, my first car. It's not an evo, but i still plan to have an evo some day, and I can thank Jackie Chan for that.

I know it's kinda corny, but it did make an impression on me seeing what an evo could do.
Does anyone else have any first time stories about falling in love at first sight, or first drive with an EVO?

 

The first test drive and I was hooked. I was so excited and started to dream about the dam car. So I had to buy one. I was 28.

 

I brought mine without even seeing or driving it! I then traveled cross country to pick it up. I would do it again in a heartbeat. SMILES FROM EAR TO EAR!

 

i took a ride in my friends 05 MR, the next day i bought my 05 RS.

 

i always liked them. whenever i seen one i thought they have this mean look to them and they can back it up with power. next thing i know, a few years pass i got a very well paying job and im like i think im gonna get one. and i never looked back at but at certain times i do miss her but still it could never compare .

 

the jackie chan movie was "who am I?" and it was very well driven by the stunt driver...i love the parking scene...amazing

first time i saw an evo? In a magazine... evo 8 ....then my friend got one...and i didnt' really think they were all that...i thought my 1.8T Jetta could compete....jetta kept breaking down on me...few weeks later...had an 03 evo in my possesion. Most people say " i miss my old car" ....not me....evo takes out the vw 7days a week....couldn't be happier!

 

The first time I saw/rode in an evo was AMS's silver Evo when they first got it. It is now a monster they have barely tamed It was spectacular, they drove us around in the car and I was as happy as can be...people giving us looks, the driver (i forgot who it was) explained everything to us, then showed us what the evo can do. I remember it quite clearly, and that is a good sign of something special.

 

The first time Isaw one in person it was sitting in the showroom of a local Mitsu dealer and at the time I wasn't making any money so I thought "If only I could afford one of these"...now I have one. Yay!

 

Owning previous vehicles such as a 1987 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo, a combined total of 4 Talons/Eclipses and two Mitsubishi Galant VR-4's, the EVO was just waiting to join the list. Having been driving one since +/- 1996 in Gran Turismo it was just a matter of time until one was in my driveway.

 

first evo i saw was maybe an evo4. I remember I was like 16 and looking to buy a mirage because Erubuni had a body kit to make one look like a 4!! I guess that was about 9-10 years ago.

 

i am not much of a story teller, but i liked the evo at first sight. driving it sealed the deal

 

That jackie chan movie is what made me dream about the car constantly and then came the research around the year 1999 and then 2000. The WRC was hot and Tommy Makinen was the SHEEEOT! I don't ever think this solberg fella could win a race with Tommy driving that EvoVI. Anyway, I was in love with this car and I new I had to get it so in 2002 I reserved it and was number 12 on the call list for the 1st evo in my area . The dealer called the first 11 in march of 2003 and they all backed down. The dealer then called me at 5pm and said "Mr. Mejia your car is here," I never drove so fast in a beat up honda in my life that night. I got there and it was bright shining yellow EVO 8 heaven. I couldn't stop staring at it. Once I drove off I still couldn't believe it was mine, and the very first one in my area which meant people staring and pointing and the oooooo's and ahhhhhh's. I still get the nod to the day by fellow enthusiasts and there momma's too

First time i saw one was probably in grand turismo 2 . The first time i ever saw one in person was probably right after their release here in the US (3-4 years ago) at an old performance shop were i had my turbo celica project being worked on. The clutch was being replaced and i still have the picture i took of it



and my old celica project car that i had during high school. 3S-GTE swap and standalone EMS w/ t3/t4 setup and really big FMIC . maybe i'll start another one day. Which got me into the whole import crowd i probably would be driving an old 50's leadsled instead of the evo if i didn't get that celica.

 

first time i saw an Evo was not so long ago. there are not so many evos around here in iceland. i think it was two years ago when i was playing need for speed undreground. it didnīt handle as well as the skyline nor was it as fast. still annoys me, and i always prefered the Evo just because i liked it better!

still donīt own one but hopefully i will this summer, that is if anyone could PLEASE give me a couple of good dealership url-s couse i canīt afford buying a new one
