Need Advice

Well today I sat down and really thought about getting an EVO, but after some calculations I came to a conclusion that buying an EVO IX will suck me dry because I'm a student (ITT-Tech), and now im stuck and can't decide what car to buy thats fast because I really can't stand slow cars.

I was looking at the Toyota Supras(96-98) and there prices were from 20-33k, thats just to much for a used car, so I really don't know what to buy Im pretty sure if I could find an 04-05 EVO around 22-25k thats has not been modded yet i could afford that, but thats not going to happen.

So could you guys direct me in the right direction,
what should I buy thats fast and from between 20-25k?

sorry for all the noob questions,

If you're not getting an Evo, then you don't need to ask on an Evo forum.

How about a new Cobalt SS or a slightly-used SRT-4?

He also said he is considering a used one.

IMO, hold out and see if you can find a good used one that hasn't been trashed on. If not, you'll just end up saving money in the mean time

if u still want the AWD/turbo engine platform, the WRX is a nice alternative.

The Evo is my dream car next to the Skyline so I really want to get the evo, but 80% of the time all I hear is how crappy the Mitsu siervice are, and I'm afraid if I take the Risk of buying the Evo then I might get screwed by the Service department, and also high cost of maintaing the car.

the WRX is good car but it just doens't get to me like the evo does, and for the Chevy and the Dodge I really can't buy those because how much I hate American cars, their all full of crap and break down to fast.

I was considering buying the Evo with a student loan but don't think its such a good idea.
Has anyone tried this way?
What are good ways for finacing a car in you opinions?

any ways thks for all the feedback so far.

Well you could get an '03 for around $20-21K if you are serious about getting an Evo. Otherwise you're best options for a fast car for under $20K would be a WRX or SRT-4. The SRT-4 is easier to mod but the WRX has the AWD. Just my $.02. BTW a local dealer was just advertising two new SRT-4's for $15,900, not bad considering the performance.

Warr think about your comments before you speak. Those remarks make Evo owners look like jackasses

I just got my 03' with 10K for $23K! Maintenance is not expensive...it's not a BMW!

Good luck though!

Really? lol! I was doing the same when I was looking for an Evo, and I really didn't run into much. I have friends w/03's and runnin' strong highly modded.

Guess it depends what you read.

maybe I read to much about the problems rather then just asking.
and if the 03s don't have that much problems then I'm getting an 03

THKS for all the feedback.

Good luck with everything bro! If you do go for an 03', just be sure it's got decent mileage and look it over thoroughly as I did. Just maintain like it's your baby which I'm sure you will, and you should be fine.
