Need- No. It would be useful to have wideband, EGT, and oil pressure though.

I am one of those guys that likes to see a bunch of data from the engine. I would recommend since you are putting on a TBE, Intake, Flash that you get a wideband AF guage. A datalogger would be a good investment too.

ANYWAY, you don't NEED any gauges at all, you could just have boost set with flash. THOUGH, i would recommend getting atleast EGT, Wideband, Oil Press., and yes of course boost.

I realize it's expensive, but the question you need to ask yourself is do you really want to play with fire? I mean, don't get any gauges (or just boost), and have no idea if your ****s about to explode (not literally). OR spend the money on something that is GOOD to have, and when you hit that 2x4 on the freeway you can check to see if your oil press drops, pull over if so and get a new oil pan; as opposed to not knowing, and getting a voided warrenty from for having aftermarket cams when you try to get your engine replaced..

It's a stupid example i know, im having trouble getting my thoughts out clearly; But hopefully you get the main idea of what i am trying to say here.

BASICALLY, if your going to get cams, your warrenty is going to get voided, so yes you need other gauges to monitor your engine at all times INCASE something out of the ordinary happens.

I still stand by the fuel pump as being a good investment to add to your list.

as far as the other gauges such as egt oil pressure with the basic mods that i listed besides cams still unsure with the flash shouldnt it be tuned well enough to get by without them. Im not trying to be a cheapass but also dont want to spend the money on un needed gauges!!!

I don't see why not... they're very different.

I will get a wideband next (have boost already), and would like a pressure gauge but that can wait a little bit.

Dude, it's a great mod to add to his list. BUT THATS NOT WHAT HE IS ASKING OR WHAT THIS THREAD IS EVEN ABOUT.

Yes your tune should be sufficient, but have you not read all the threads going around lately about factory defects, and random ****, etc.? I mean, no gauge is unneeded, or a waste of money. Why not be safe? It's like riding a bike without a helmet, you don't need one, but you have also heard of people becomming vegetables..

Basically to wrap this up, it really sounds like you don't want to spend the money on gauges, and you dont really see the benefits; so just get a boost gauge like the majority of people and you will prolly be fine. If i am reading you wrong and you actually do care, and are worried about it.. THEN GET THEM.
