Good idea to wait for mods. There's a lot of useful info on this site if you know how to find it and who to listen to.

Quote: Hellz yeah my friend. Stock alone will be different. I remember when I first got my evo. It was everything that I expected and more. Something I value greatly is the handling. You find yourself doing stuff you didnt think was possible. Now my evo is making almost 100 whp over stock. At first I wanted a 12 sec street car. Now that I have it I want 11seconds
Once you start modding you probably wont stop
.
...that's great. I agree, the modding bug is difficult to resist.

Quote: Yeah the only thing is that the evo IX is so mod-friendly compared to the RSX! I fear you might catch the speed bug.
lol... I'm affraid I might catch it too. If I do it's ok, it's going to be with a much stronger platform then I had before.

Quote: The MR is not offer in tarmac black.
I think he's aware of that... In anycase, welcome to the forums, and I think you'll find that there are worse things than which color your cars comes in!

Welcome
Welcome! Good luck with the purchase of the IX. The MR is also offered in white and red. The graphite grey is stealthy, mean, and sharp looking. However, the choice is yours.

I'm also coming from a Honda. It's a whole new world after owning an EVO. You'll never want to go back. The only thing I miss about my Honda is the good gas mileage.

There's no torque split difference between the settings. Here's details on what the ACD settings do.

THanks. I'm leaning more towards the Graphite Gray, but I'm still really tempted by the Wicked White.

Coming from a Honda/Acura is why I'm so excited about getting this car. It's 100% different in every possible aspect.... and a much stronger platform from the factory. I can't wait.

I was actually just thinking before I came on the site this morning about how I wanted to read up more on the ACD, so thanks for the great link.

It's such an ironic name for white.. How is there anything wicked about white? Ok my 2 cents.

Did you get to test drive the MR? I used to own a 2500lb integra, and I'm amazed at how the Evo at 3200+lbs feels so light around turns. Anyhow.. welcome to the world of torque.

No, I haven't found a dealership that will let me drive a IX MR until I'm ready to actually trade my car in. I've tested the GSR, but that's it. However based on the fact that I want to leave the suspenion stock on this car and all the different reviews/articles/experiences I've read on the MR, I pretty confident that's the one I want.

When the time comes to trade the car in, I'll test the MR to make 100% sure.

Ahh well the things I noticed between owning an Evo and an MR... The MR has a softer ride in that it handles bumps better (especially at low speeds). Then the transmission shifts seem smoother. First gear is shorter on the MR so it's more convenient to get moving in normal driving. Other than the 4th to 5th shift is much better to keep your rpms up.

I test drove the IX and the MR about 3 times each just to be sure of what I wanted. It's a lot of money, so don't let the dealer bully you. The extra 4k was worth it for me.

THanks for the personal review. These are the things I like to read, and those the pluses that have me wanting it.

I currently have Tein Type SS-P coilovers with the EDFC on my Type S and atleast around here in CT and NYC it is just to stiff of a ride for my taste anymore. I liked the compromise in ride quality for handling when I was coming outta high school but now 4 years later it is just exhausting. I want something that will absorb the bumps while still providing a ton of grib. The MR seems to provide this from what I've read.

I'm trying to not let the dealers bully me, but the dealerships around here, atleast the ones of I've visited, aren't really the best.

Well the MR isn't so bad then.

As long as you express to the dealer that you're geniunely interested in buying one, can afford one and handle yourself somewhat professionally, they should give you at least a little respect.
