Hey everyone, still shopping for an Evo.

Hello,

I wanted to introduce myself. I'm in the CA bay area (san jose / cupertino) so my options without going too far out of the area are pretty much the Stevens Creek and Capitol dealerships.

I have gotten offers for around 30,500ish not including tax/title/liscense. The MR was around 34k. They didn't seem too open to negotiation in some of my recent calls, plus I've read some "shady" things about them on this site as well.

Hopefully I can get a better deal. I'm still aiming for approx 29-30 out the door.

Plus I still need to figure out what color I want.

Good luck with your buy.... I'm shopping for an EVO too.... and the dealerships reputation and selection in this area is kinda iffy.

IF your NOT getting the MR, my vote goes for Tarmac Black... if you gettin an MR then I don't know... cause I'm still up in the air for which color I want my IX MR in.

Anwayz good luck finding a good deal.... I hope I can too.

Thanks for the replies!

As for the sales issues, as long as they give me a good trade in deal so I can afford the monthly payments-I should be alright.

As for the color...Tarmac Black looks great. But then again, from currently owning a black Civic Si-black looks great for about the first 15 secs after washing/waxing the car. Then Mother Nature unleashes her pollen onslaught turning a once black car into yellow.

Kwman-lol, appreciate the offer, but I'm definitely staying away from any sort of aftermarket stuff. Cops are cracking down big time here.

Yea I hear what you mean about keeping the black cars clean. I currently drive a Black RSX Type S and it's a ***** to keep clean. But when it is, black is the best.

Go to South Coast Mitsu in So. Cal.

You can get a new IX GSR for 30K OTD.

I flew down and got one there and drove it back to Nor- cal. (I also live a couple hours more north then you)

I feel the EVO search. I have looked at 3 already and I am amazed at how people can trash such an amazing car. I love black also and hate to keep them clean. I have a black GSX and 2 min after I clean it, it is dusty as hell. I really want the Gray the MR comes it but is settling for a weightless white evo. I want a White EVO with a sunroof and less then 24K. It is a pain in the a$$ to find. Looking at another tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Good luck on your search. It's hard to find pristine used cars like EVO. They're just meant to be tossed and flung around as much as possible.

I had a weightless white 03. White looks clean, but when you go to wash it you can see every little spec of dirt on the paint. So you have to scrub for hours. With darker colors, ignorance is bliss.

Just bought the Tarmac Black on Friday in the Phoenix area, and LOVE it! I don't mind the cleaning duties at all, in fact kinda **** about it regardless of color. Wasn't even planning on buying now (was thinking about MR in the summer time) but they had 2 black ones and offered 4k for my pos mazda 626 that had kbb value under $500. at 28K couldnt pass up the deal! Good luck.

I live in Chicago and was told there were no evo's within a five state radius. I would have had to get it shipped in either way, so I bought at Southcoast. Look into it, especially if you are in California. Good luck with your search

Same here - I'm going the Southcoast route as well. Although there are Evo's available at some of the Western Pennsylvania/Eastern Ohio dealerships I found online, their selection was pretty thin and I figured the cost I'd have to pay would still be more than buying it at Southcoast and having it shipped here to me.

Southcoast is an option for me...but despite the pricing, I do need to trade in a car (albeit lightly modified) and knowing how cops are here in Cali...the 6-8hr drive will probably net me at least 1 ticket.

I'm negotiating a pretty good deal for an MR with Veracom. If it fails...I will probably hit up SRM. I'm still also working on some issues with the parents...since they don't want me investing in another car so soon (to put it lightly).

So we will see how it all works out. Veracom has done a nice job so far...I've talked with a few other local dealers...Stevens Creek was decent...but I'm hesitant to go there with others here not recommending them. I will keep you all posted.

Boost Limit: just hit up South Coast and be done. I tried to deal with the dealerships up here in the Bay and they even recommended that I jump on the deal that South Coast is offering. So I got my EB GSR IX from South Coast. Call them up and talk to Mark M.

And on your drive down there, bring a radar detector and a friend, that way you can have your co-driver keep in eye out on "eyes" in the sky. Also keep an eye out on the off-ramps and on-ramps.
