Reliablity, was not requirement of his. Insurance would be super cheap. You could beat on it and not feel guilty. And for 10k it would be a damn nice 240sx.

The Tc has nothing like it, so it stands apart and looks unique. It also has a lot of options from Toyota that you can add right away as well as a good aftermarket already. The Tiburon is pretty nice, too, especially the newer V6 version, but I don't know anything about their reliability.
The Tiburon v6 is pretty bad.. believe it or not I've actually looked at dyno graphs. Really narrow power delivery for a v6 and even worse mileage.

I agree about the Tc. Good value, toyota build, and decent power.

At 22 I bought an Evo, which is different from 19, but try and get a quote first before jumping to conclusions.

Seriously, if you've got a clean record and don't live in a state from Hell (Cali, NJ, NY etc)

i was thinking about:
Hyundai Tiburon
Mazda3
Mitsubishi Ralliart Lancer
Acura RSX (but insurance seems high on that too)
and a Scion Tc (but it doesnt seem to appeal alot to me i guess)

and man my account still works after 2-3 years of not using it ha.
For little more you can jump to a much nicer car level(Honda SI, SRT-4)

Doesn't the SRT-4 have a higher insurance rate than the Evo.

^ +1 ...lol unless his still living with his parents and the benz and evo were gifts. So his good job covers car notes/insurance. No offence by the way.

On the other note.. How about the New civic SI?.... I have seen some on the road and they dont look that bad.

Warr, obviously you didn't read what the guy wrote. His main concern was insurance and you immediatly tell him to go for the "coupe", which too alot of insurance company reads "sports car", which = higher insurance. I suggest you re-read his post and make a more aware comment.

Looks are subjective

That is true, but it comes with a hefty price tag, your much better off buying from an aftermarket company.

To the thread starter, please let us know what your looking to do with the car(s). What I will tell you is, right out the box the ralliart is the fastest of the bunch.

I actually think it does have higher insurance. My buddy just bought one and he did his insurance online while over at my house, it was 125 a month. We have very similiar driving records and mine was 120. If anything its at least close. I would go with the srt its pretty damn quick stock. Im a toyota guy too, I dont care for anything toyota has out right now.
edit: oh ya you are not a boy at 19 wtf?

my gf is looking at similarly priced cars and as of this week and after actually going to look at some she's on the tC (although 3 weeks ago it was a wrangler, then a miata, so who knows what it'll be next week). i really like the 3 but after looking at them she liked the tC better plus it is cheaper. i'd rather see her go new, but if she goes used she'll also consider a WRX, a mini cooper s, an srt4 and a mazdaspeed protege. the ralliart is not on the list of possibilities
