i think the spool is noticable, especially with the windows down. mine got quite a bit louder after the JDM diverter valve, holds boost better also

congrats. it's quiet. the stock exhaust keeps it quiet. the subarus are definatly louder. but you should feel better that you have a car that can take to the mods. check out this link http://media.ams-evo8.com/videos/dbajalis/dan987.wmv you have the potential to do this but subies don't.

First of all, you shouldn't be buying things to make it louder. That's not smart.

If you want to make it FASTER, though, then look at the mods in the link in my sig. You don't have to get the exact package, but those mods will make you fast. Getting an Evo and worrying about making it loud is not recommended.

My IX idles loud. I have these racks in the kitchen that I hang drinking glasses on and when I'm in the driveway idling, the glasses shake and rattle inside the house!

When driving, the turbo can be heard as soon as you step on the gas.

It sounds great.

The car isn't loud stock, when its idling it has a nice hum, the kind you feel in your chest and you know it means business, kinda reminds me of the sound a train makes at slow speeds.

To make it loud get an rs-r exmag gt2 TBE and an intake, I've heard that the Greddy Ti Racing exhaust is louder, but Ive never heard one.

Just for the record, I've had 2 tickets since I put my exhaust on 3 months ago. I never got any tickets in the 8 months the car was stock.

Really? I can clearly hear the turbo on my IX. Its way more defined than my stock exhaust. The sound in the cabin from my exhaust was greatly reduced though by sound deadening material coating the entire trunk, doors, rear deck, and under the rear seat.
