I have looked and researched but can't find the answer I seek. This new QTP downpipe cutout seems like the perfect thing for someone who is looking for more performance but yet wants to remain stock looking when needed. My son thinks it's too loud and I would be better off with just a turbo back exhaust. Has anyone tested how loud this is? And can anyone recommend or not recommend this product.
I was just looking to have the QTP pipe, a new fuel pump and a custom tune done. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have a QTP cutout welded in to a Bushur 3" TBE. It is stupidly loud. You won't gain much more performance unless you have it open and that is impractical on the street plus you will fail emissions. Get a TBE for 24/7 performance (albeit not as much, maybe 5-10 whp less).

You don't need a fuel pump on a IX. Get an MBC instead. The QTP Pipe is $480 plus labor so it's pretty pricey. You will hardly see any gains when the cutout is closed because it will still neck down to stock catback size after the QTP DP.

Crawl under your car tonight and disconect you catback. Don't mind the service engine light (you can reset it later by disconnecting the negative battery terminal).
