hey guys, i'm planning to buy a forge bov for my Evo and i was wondering how loud is it with the stock air box. thanks

 

im selling mine, for 100 dollars, only put like 200 miles on it. its the VTA and its loud.

 

I'm selling mine for $65. It's polished and it's a DV. Not a VTA.

I am selling my forge recirc BOV. cuz I got a new one with my new upper IC piping. Works great and sounds awesome

 

With the airbox in place, you hear almost nothing.....

 

It's not any louder than the stock BOV, but if you take out your ram air so that you can hear the bov vent, it sounds like ****!!! It sounds exactly like someone exhaling through a SNORKEL!!!

I don't know if it sounds any better with a cone filter, but it doesn't sound good at all with the ram removed. Keep your stock airbox on that's for sure.

 

what about Greddy type S, can u hear it with the stock ait box?

 

the forge recirculating bov is slightly louder than the stock one and with a cone filter it gets even louder.

it lets out a real quick "shaaa" sound

 

u cant really hear any bov wit that stock air box, if u do an intake setup like injen and reuse the stock bov, u cant hear that alot as well, but if u have the plastic one replace it, if u have an evo ix mr one, the metal one, its not TOO bad, but a type s is always sexy ;-) but u still cant hear it with a stock air box

 

get a IX bov (dv) its the best for our cars, under 25psi
