No, it's because there is no real IX MR. It's just a name Mitsu used in the US for marketing. The VIII MR is a limited edition that only had 1200 units made WORLDWIDE. 1000 of those were in the US. There is no real IX MR (no JDM version), so it is not considered a limited production vehicle. I do not know the # of IX MRs made, though.

When I went to purchase my EVO 9 MR at Gillman Mitsubishi, it had a window sticker stating a production of only 1500. So, I knew right there and then I would have to get one. LOL,ha, ha.....

All EVO IX in the world except the ones in the US have aluminum roofs and all the MR stuff are optional on the EVO IX's.

I don't remember. Go search around on EvoMR. Not sure if the FQs count in that number or not.

So the rest of the world only gets 200 MR's? That isn't right. Every FQ model sold in the UK since 2005 was an MR.

There are no MR's for the UK for 2006 there maybe FQ's but they are not MR's. The MR designation was only for the year 2005. All the parts that made the EVO a MR is available as an option for 2006 and the aluminum roof is standard everywhere but the US.

Man, I just said that I don't know if the FQs are included in that 1200 number that was published. Damn.
