My 3 year old son does not complain at all, he calls it the rocket race car, and when
we are at a red light he says "daddy the car moves my butt" lol. I assume he means the vibration.

but other than that he prefers to take my car so we do!

bvliz, what does the mother think of the car, I would go by her instincts, if she says its to much, then its to much.

Just try to keep her happy! Trust me in 5 months you will see what I mean!

Ask the pediatrician...

that's really the only advice i can give on this. I know my 6 yr old step son loves a hard second gear pull.

My son was born a few months premature. We had no issues with my son in any car. The only thing we had to do was to have his vitals checked in the car seat he would be riding in. He is now 2.5 years old and loves to ride in my car. Just make sure the seat is in good and the seat is built for a child the size of yours. But if you have any doubts ask your doctor. After all they are the experts. Congradulations on the new baby girl.

I have an 18 month old son and a four month old daughter. Front-facing seat for my son and a rear-facing seat for my daughter both fit in back with no problems. A car seat holds them in there pretty tight. They get jostled more when you're clicking in the seat than they do during the ride.

Five more pounds and my son can sit in the Recaro Start that I bought two years ago!

Look at it from another perspective. With the Evo cornering better than your average SUV or almost any other automobile, the body rolls is minimized, thereby resulting in the baby being being swayed from side to side less.

But from personal experience, my baby (about to turn one) fell asleep so much easier and faster in the Evo than my wife's Lexus RX300! And this was with Hotchkis springs and and an AVO catback!

Of course it'll be fine. As stated, people "bounce" babies all over their knees all the time. Many kids including me have been brought up in cars with far less forgiving suspensions from day one. Jeeps, old muscle cars, whatever.

The kid will be fine.

If not, you can always make another one.

(Sorry, just not a kid person.)

Hi guys,
I'm a pediatrician and as long as the baby is in a proper car seat and well secured.
He/she should be just fine. Just dont forget to give her to mommy and leave them behind if you plan on autocrossing, rallycrossing or hitting the streets on wot.

My daughter was 9 mos old when I got my Evo. My son was 3. Neither of them had any problems riding in my stock (at that time) Evo. My wife works every other weekend, so if I wanted to go anywhere I had to put them in the Evo. They did just fine. My son WOULDN"T ride in the back of my 996 when I had it. He said that was too loud, but has never complained in the Evo. In fact, he's usually asleep before we get out of the development. He's now in the Recaro booster seat that matches the Evo and my daughter rides in the foward-facing Porsche child seat that I got with the 996.

It's really great to see you are this concerned with your new baby's welfare. Just make sure you install the child seat properly and she should be fine. I'm sure if you search the web you'll find lots of advice on how to install the seat. http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ is a great place to start. Congratulations on your new baby girl

Jim

My son road in my car since day one. It was modded + it has tein s-techs. Under normal driving there should never be enough rough movement in a car to do damage to a child IF THEY ARE IN THE CAR SEAT CORRECT!

I took my daughter home in my 03 which had everything up to and including cams. I feel safer in my evo than any other car I've driven or owned. The shaking you are talking about never happened in my evo so maybe that's way.

The key is to make sure the child is correctly sitting in the child seat.

As stated above, no problems at all. My son was 8 months old when we got the Evo. Although it's not the primary car for him, he's never had a problem riding in it. In fact, most of the time, he falls asleep (Most likely from the exhaust droning.) Make sure you use the latch system. If you use the seat belt, you can cause the carrier to tilt to one side because the seat belt will not hold. It will allow slack unless it is pulled suddenly. As a result, if you go through a turn too fast, the car seat can tilt/roll...

Just make sure you don't open the window while driving, the brake dust is the one that will kill your child

My son has always fallen asleep in my Evo quickly. He's been riding in it since about 4 weeks.
Of course his name is Enzo so I'm sure it's in his blood.
