New here...Want to upgrade

Hey guys, my name is JJ. I live in New Jersey. I'm not new to the 4g63t. I currently own a 1996 Eagle Talon Tsi awd. I have had it for about 3 years now. I bought it stock. Now i have a good amount of modificaton to it.

Built 6 bolt bottom end, turbonetics 50trim, Full 3" turboback, 550cc injectors, 190lph
Aem Uego wideband, SAFCII, Full intercooler piping, Greddy 24r Frount mount, External Oil Cooler, 3" intake, greddy type-s, ACT 2600, Lightwieght ACT flywheel, Built transmission by dogbox racing, etc....

The car has gone 12.0@115mph on 24psi on my 50trim. I'm waiting to gradute from the Audi Academy to start working, sell my car and get an 03-04 Evo. So, i'm going start hanging around and reading. Another member "Superhatch" is a friend of mine. After driving his Vishnu Evo I was hooked in about 2 seconds.

Heres a pic of my current car.

When the Evo first came out. Right away I always liked it. But being 18 years old and full time student not having a good source of income a new car was out of the question. But I am a fan of 4 doors. After my talon and only having what most call "emergency backseats", I only use the backseats to fit people in an emergency to get people somewhere.

When sitting in the Evo, I love it. The stock seats awesome. The whole interior set up, love it. Big brakes, Enkie wheels theres nothing I don't like about the car. I got to drive Steves car and the throttle responce was completely amazing. Along with the steering and suspension. I can only compare to my 10 year old worn out suspension but still if you turned the wheel the car responded with no problem and no body roll. I really couldn't believe it. The only thing that my sway my choice of an Evo. When I get to the Audi Dealership i will be working out if i can find a low mileage Audi s4 that the dealer will give me a good deal on. I also love those cars 2.7l biturbo, 6 speed, in nogaro blue.

A used Audi? Ahh well decisions, decisions.. At least you'll be trained on how to fix it.

If you want more luxury than raw performance, I'd say go for the s4.

This is true. I have 2 friends. With 01-02 s4's, Ecu, Intake, 880cc injectors, 90mm maf, AVC-R, downpipes, 3" cat-back, Rs-4 clutch, Intercoolers, and last but not least Rs6-K04 tubos running 24psi street, 26-28psi track, H&r ultra coilovers. The torque this car makes is nothing less than awesome. After doing some tuning pulls about 12pulls back to back in track tune. We had to pull over and walk around. I felt like puking. So if do go s4 those will be the mods that will follow.

If you are planning to mod, I think everyone here is safe to tell you, that you should go with the Evo.
If you aren't going to mod, I personally would go with the S4 because of the luxury.

After was all said and done with the s4 ended up with little under 450whp. The car hasn't been to the track yet. And if I had to give a rough estimation of the cost for those mods it would be close to $9-10,000. That was with us doing all the labor. A turbo swap in the car is a 13 hour job. (the motor has to come out). The turbos alone were $2,400. Its all in the price of the car.. I would expect the mods to be more expensive for the Audi. But the luxery/performance of that car is fantastic. Well see how giving Audi of America is when it comes to me picking when time to shop.

Yikes that's a lot of money. What kind of dyno was it that rated 450hp?

The dyno was a dyno-jet. He did this on pump gas also. I talked to him the other day. He is helping develop a stage 3+ kit for a company out here in New Jersey, Autospeed Performance. So he has actually done some more tuning and made little more power than that.

EVOs are great but I'm really digging that Talon. Too bad you can't just have both.

Okay on a dyno-jet it makes more sense. So with all this in mind.. is your goal just to go fast or to have luxury?
