Got my MR from Don Herring Plano

First of all I would like to give a big thank you to Jason Johnson of Don Herring Mitusbishi in Plano Texas.

I won my RR MR off ebay and Jason made the transaction so smooth it was if I had gone to the dealership myself and bought the car. Documents were overnighted and the whole process was VERY smooth.

I had the car shipped from TX to CT by Let it Ride Auto transport. They charged me 825.00, picked up my car in TX on monday night and Thursday night I had my car!! It was in perfect condition, just a little dirty. They were ultra friendly and called just about every night to let me know where they were. I highly recommenf them to anyone shipping out cars.

All in all I got my MR below Invoice including shipping, something extremely difficult to do here on the east coast.

Coming from an STi, I must say.....EVO>>>>>STi

I'm going to take some pics and bore everyone in show and shine with my stock evo!

Gongrats!
You will love it.

I just got mine two weeks ago. Break-in was done a few days ago.
The 6 speed was a bit notchy for the first 400 miles but it's like butter now.

The 9's seems to have a bit more kick on the lower RPM's then the evo 8's.

Anyways, take care of her and she will love you back.

Do you really think that the EVO MR is better that the 06 STI?
I love the EVO but the sound of the STI 2.5 is just amazing!!
I am still thinking what to get! EVO or STI
I can’t figure that one out!
I think that the EVO MR > STI but the STI > EVO
What do you think since you had both?
Thanks

Here is what I loved about the Suby:

That boxer sound is unbeatable, quite possibly my favorite engine sound besides a 360 CS.
The low end torque was really drivable for around town.
Gauge cluster was beautiful.
DCCD was a really fun gadget.
Outside temp was nice to have on the display as well as the shift light/beep.
Looking out the windshield and seeing the hood scoop.

Things I didn't like:
Shifter was mushy and vague
Horrendous seats, blue interior
Rear strut clunk
I had an 04 so mine suffered from brake knock back (weak hubs would displace under hard cornering and push the brake pads in causing your brake pedal to engage at dif points)
Limited tire widths without modification.
Pretty bad blind spot.
Stock suspension inadequate

I've only put about 100 or so miles on the EVO and here is what I like better than the STi:
Seats are absolutely amazing.
I can totally live with the stock shifter.
I had to spend alot of money on the STi (F&R sways, bushings, cusco zero2r coils) to make it handle on par with the stock MR. The road feedback, the precision of the steering, bump absorption...MR is far superior to the STi.
I know the numbers in all the tests these two machines are basically the same, but what it comes down to is feel and confidence in the car and the MR just feels better to me.
I kind of like the seat in the pants kick you get when the turbo spools.
The looks of the MR are way better than that fugly 06 STi.
The MR is by far the easiest car that I have ever driven to heel-toe in.

The only thing I don't like about the MR is the gauge cluster. Its outdated and an eye sore, but whatever I don't care what the gauges look like when my right foot is on the floor through my favorite set of sweepers

The best way do describe the two I think is the STi is more like an american muscle car and the EVO is a japanese muscle car. The STi powers through things with brute force and the evo cuts through things with precision. I feel lucky to have owned both of these wonderful machines, and this is in no way a knock on STi's just my opinion having owned both.
The STi took a 50k mile beating and never complained about it once or gave me any troubles. SO it was a wonderful car and I don't regret owning it one bit.

Ok i'm done rambling.
