Tree vs. Evo - the end result

I am in the process of parting out a 2005 evo (I needed some front end parts for my 03 evo) and I couldn't help posting some pics. This car was wrapped around a tree (I was told the driver survived, but I wouldn't have bet on it). Anyway, the pic with my hand in it is where the driver's seat was bolted. If you notice, my thumb is on the OUTSIDE rocker and my pinky is touching the driveshaft tunnel.

I hate to see that. I would feel funny taking parts from a car that I knew someone died in. Thats just me....I live in Texas so the trees are few and far between. Maybe hit a tumbleweed or a javalina or armadillo.....

Well, I bought it from the father of the driver. His son spent 3 months in the hospital and the kid's girlfriend apparently only spent one night there. So, taking parts off it doesn't bother me at all. I was curious to see if other people survive crashes like this, so I did some searches and believe it or not, they do. I found a pic of mitsubishi spyder still wrapped around a light post and the people in that car survived as well (and the car looked worse if that is possible).
