Question Intercooler spray

Could someone please tell me exactly what to put into my intercooler spray? I had windshield washer fluid in it. But I am reading the manual and it says water (washer fluid). What is it, water or washer fluid?

either or both. since you live in PA, you should put washer fluid. it has ethanol in it to help with the ice/snow. it is also good for the hotter days/humid days as the ethanol will help chill your intercooler better.

I would use the washer fluid also, last thing you want is the hoes to burst because the expanding water broke the hoes.

the winshield washer fluid never actually makes it into the engine.

Water won't cause your hose to burst. There is an overflow valve in the resevoir that will release pressure as well.

sprayer

Yeah you could put chocolate milk in there and it wouldnt hurt your engine. Your sprayer runs from the reserve through hose to little nozzles in your front bumper and sprays the front of you IC. Exactly like your winshield washer setup. You clould actually move it to your trunk to save room in your engine bay. Thats what I did.

What can't you put in there is the real question? Could I put rubbing alcohol and it won't hurt the lines or tank?

That might be corrosive, but you could always replace the lines. I would dillute it with water at the very least.

Yeah but would it do anything for it to be worth replacing the lines?

replace the tank with a new one from SMC. Doesn't matter what you put in there its not going to make much power for you.

Dry ice in the water might cool things down a bit more, or maybe just crushed ice. I doubt anyone would get on a dyno though to see if these things actually did anything useful. Maybe you could do some datalogs to check it out.
