Ok so on the way into work today my radar detector ( a Passport Escort 8500, the older one ) went a little nuts. First it said self calibrating. Then it reset itself and thirty seconds later it self calibrated again. It reset then did it once more and this time instead of resetting it starting flashing SERVICE REQUIRED. I bought this thing second hand and dont have the manual so does anyone know what i should do ? Im used to having it so id like to get it fixed and kinda cant afford a new one right now. Please help!

you can probly get the manual off their website. I had the same problem with my beltronics and had to send it off.

 

^^^Fixed it for ya. Escorts have always tested best. High end Bel is the best deal for the $.

 

Anyone got a V1 and does anyone have the new 8500 ?

 

I had this same problem on my old 8500. I called in and they told me they'd fix it ..but for $$$. Unless you wana send it in, just keep unplugging and plugging it back in

V1 is the best out there! everyone says who needs arrows? Once you own you will know why! plus bogey counter for those pesky auto doors and speed traps!My V1 has saved me from at least 5 speeding ticketsin the year that i have had it, lets see speeding ticket in AZ is $300 at the least 3, 6, 9, 12, $1500.

Money well spent if you ask me! Or hay dont speed, that works better then anything out right now.

 

Arrows. Please. How tunnel visioned do you have to be to not see if the cop is on the side of you or right in front? If he is behind and you are speeding he probably would never get in range to shine you anyways unless he is speeding. Arrows schmarrows.

 

An aquaintence of mine is selling a V1 for $350. No one on the board wanted it so you could try and low ball him a little.
