I just said what I said because some people have trouble gettin test drives.
I usually don't have trouble getting a test ride, either .

One time, which they must have been out of their freaking minds, a Ford dealership let me test drive a brand new 2001 SVT Ford Lightning. Me, a 21 year old guy. That thing can get sideways, let me tell you. I was in the market for a 2001 diesel F-250, but I thought "well, maybe I don't need a diesel...". I drove it, it was fun, but not practical. A reg cab, non 4X4, lowered, small bed truck? Nah, I'll get the F-250. Thanks, though.

I'm not saying the EVO is all that practical either, but after my modded diesel truck got stolen (again, but gone for good ), I wanted something different. Enter the EVO. I miss that truck, but it's hard to look back when I have an EVO.

How modded was your diesel?? Those thing get phat gains with just a flash and exhaust. I have a F-150 that I ws gonna but a lightnig motor in, if I ever get around to it. Yeah, the lightning isnt that practical for a truck.

i have a 340 whp wrx and all i have to say is that my next car will be an evo. IMHO the evo is a much better drivers car whereas the sti has to many comprimises to make it appeal to all the people that want the look of the boy-racer but dont want to deal with the qwirks of a true performance car. i have driven both sti's and an evo 8 and an evo 9 and the evo's deff had the edge. the evo's are more laggy than the subies but that is why there is a gearshift. just learn how to drive the powerband you have.

cushy daily => STi
all out perfomance monster => EVO

PS if you do get an STi make sure that it is an 05 or newer, the 04's missed out on some key upgrades

I dont think I would ever consider the STi a "cushy daily". As a matter of fact, the EVO MR with its Bilsteins actually rides better than the RS/GSR or STi.

well no... i was exaggerating a bit. the point is that the evo is more performance oriented IMO.
