My friend and i are having a debate over what car i should get and he rolls STi so of course is biased for subaru. I like the overall look of the Evo and i think thats going to be my choice of car pretty soon here. The only thing thats bothering is my friend keeps saying not to buy an Evo becasue it boosts at 5k RPM.... Anyone wana fill me in on how true this is?

he lies cuz he wants u to buy a suby. i was playing with a dudes sti ecu tonight and he was whining about how he should have gotten an evo. my girl drives an sti ahah so sti are for girls

 

he also says that his STi boosts at 3k.

 

My family owns both an 03 evo 8 and an 06 sti both are great cars just depend what you want
and if you want to mod them

 

The turbo spools a little later in the Evo (more like 3500), but that's because it has a bigger turbo. The good thing about that is after you do some basic mods your friend is having to get a new turbo and upgrade his fuel system to keep up with you. You'll also get a little more lowend with the STI due to it having more displacement.

If you want the better performance car get the Evo. If you want a nearly as good performance car that's a little better around town with a few more amenities, get the STI. If you're into modding the Evo get an even bigger edge like I pointed out above.

 

My tbe and accessport eguiped sti has full boost by 3000 easily but the handling is way different the tourque is great on the sti

 

The evo is so much easier to drive on the limit then my sti, even an 03 non electronic diffed

 

Yea i juss talked to him and he said him and his other friend did test drive an Evo 8 and they werent satisfied. Ignorance at its finest.

 

When I took my test drive my salesman turned white and wouldnt talk for a hour and he has known me for a while

He just got scared when the boost came on so suddenly. A little poop in the pants doesn't satisfy anyone. He just couldn't hang.

YOU drive the EVO and see what YOU think. It's going to be YOUR car. Then YOU can hand him HIS *** when YOU get it.

 

 

Boost at 5000......rrrrighttt! Get the Evo then show him as you boost by him.
