Man is this thing...

Awesome!!!

Well, I just picked up my 2006 Apex Silver Evolution IX today! I was just in total shock on the way home, I just could not believe that I finally got one. I have been wanting one since I heard they were coming to the states.

I have been keeping it under 5000rpm, and will do so for the first 1K. I could certainly tell that when it started to hit 3000rpm in the first three gears, it really wanted to unleash! I have never driven a turbo car, and it was truly an experience.

I have friends that have evos, and one of my friends has offered to me many times over the past year or so if I wanted to drive his car... but I explained that I was saving myself for my own. Kinda like popping my evo cherry today!!!

Yeah, I love the car!

Yeah, It seems very fast!

Yeah, I can't wait till break in is complete!

Yeah, I am like the happiest guy in the world right now...

I finally am one of the family now!!!

<grin> That's what I said, too, but redlined the sucker after 700 miles. Congratulations on a great purchase.

Yeah, no reason to wait 1k miles. Mitsu only recommends 600, and they're probably being conservative.

congrats, but this is in the wrong forum section man...

i mean it's great for you for the first time, but think about the hundreds of other owners that had one before you to browse through a thread in evo general and see a post like this...

Are you serious? I feel like i'm on Honda-Tech again. This is the "Evo General Forum" right? Where it's just general Evo talk right?

Hell, i've seen worse in here.

Congrats on the purchase.

Then read your manual and you won't have to wait as long.

Congrats. BE CAREFUL! I had a friend trade his Eclipse for an Evo last month. He hit a tree already. He's ok, the cars totalled. Respect the car. If your older or just wise beyond your years, you know this, but I wanted to warn you anyway. Enjoy the car and redline that puppy, it's ready when you are.
