Turbo doesnt make "turbo" sound
So ive noticed our Evos dont really make the "turbo" sound while under boost. I was the owner of a 2003 honda Civic with a TSI Turbo kit. It had a T25bb Turbo (just fairly a little bit bigger then the 18G) and when the civics turbo was spooling, you could hear it from a mile away. basicly a WOOSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH while i was under boost. what is the reason that the Evo's turbo does not make that sound and what can i do to make that sound from the turbos?
I read though this and seems like such a Noob question.. i feel embarased.

Like they said, get an aftermarket intake. The stock intake box muffles everything except for the "whistle" sound. It gets pretty loud with an open filter, and even better with a hard intake pipe.
Maybe he is referring to more of the big rig, semi truck turbo sound. Sure with an open air filter you get a whoosh sound, but you dont really get that kinda metalic spinning sound.

Nothing wrong with enjoying the spool sound, but actually asking why you don't hear it is pretty lame. I mean, if the car wasn't making power or making strange noises, then yeah, but comparing to a Civic? Blasphemous. The Evo is a supercar that makes tons of power. Why would anyone be worried about hearing it spool up or not? Anyway, it's quiet because of the stock airbox that is very, very good and does not need to be replaced with a $250 just for sound.
