Oh, we definitely bash each other constantly, so don't give us too much credit. Great choice on getting a _IX_ (not XI) MR, and Rally Red is the rarest of all MR colors, so that will be a nice thing to have. The RR MR is beautiful for sure.

Btw, the stock BBS rims are only 17lbs and are forged, so I wouldn't be so quick to spend several thousand to upgrade them when you could gain 60-70whp overnight with only $1270. If you already have Advan RGIIs that fit, then by all means go for it. In the end, if you upgrade the wheels right away, send me a PM, because I'll buy your stock rims and tires.

as for the wheels i was thinking Rota Boosts... ill probably not get them for a while...

one quick question... would you guys say the Billstein shocks would go fine if i drop the springs on Teins... i dont want to get a horrible quality.. ive heard both good and bad things but from the dealership... so i dont know what to think anymore... someitime later ill DEF put the coilovers on there but for now just some springs would do it... ive seen tein S techs put me at the lowest.. any other one i should see or know from?

no do not buy springs. the MR's stock ride is very nice & actually works really well on the track. springs will take away from that + if u get coilovers u will have trouble selling "used" springs. Oh & btw, don't buy Rotas. if you're gonna spend $ on a wheel, get something nicer not ricer...

well i do know all about the ricer.. if i got the money for the advans, id jump on em like no other.... but that all depends...

then about the drop... i want to have it with a nicer slammed look... dont really care much of the track since the only track near my place is like an hour away.. "texas world speedway"...

just so you know, any springs that lower the car more than 1.25" in the front will BOTTOM out under high load cornering...

Umm, well, you don't buy an Evo to slam it - that is a terrible idea. Stick with a Galant or some other ricerish car that can be tricked out and not mess up a real race car. You don't just slap s prings on an MR, because you will kill the Bilsteins while making your rid harsh. The Evo is for racing or for pure, raw performance. It is not for removing awesome forged lightweight rims that cost $750/ea to put on Rota Boosts that are heavier, not forged and only $150 each. Why in the world would you ever think of downgrading your rims?

There are a FEW sets of springs that CAN work well with the Bilstein shocks, but they are not for slamming the car. They are for improved handling. And btw, having a speedway only an hour away is a good thing, not a bad thing. You act like race tracks are usually right next door to people or something. Some of us drive hours and hours just to race.

Any slammed Evo will get bashed, because a slammed Evo is a useless Evo. Having rgII's doesn't mean it's slammed. I'm not going to help you learn how to slam an Evo, because I'd hate to see another Evo defiled. You don't get springs to lower a car - you get them to improve handling. You'll end up having a harsher ride that blows the shocks just so that you could sit lower. Stick with the galant, imo.

well, i dont mean having rgII means its slammed.. ive seen in the past evos that are slammed and no bashing or insulting.. not even a In my opinon it looks bad...

but then again to each his own... im not here to hate, or make enemies.. im just coming from a perspective that i thought from what i heard was proper.. personally my galant is riding on Tein coilovers so i know how quality rides... but i have met people here in houston that ride on stechs and say it rides great... if you guys wanna mention names id love it.. instead of keep throwing negative comments at me..

Mention names of what? People saying their s-techs ride great doesn't mean anything other than they don't ever race or use their Evos to its true potential. If you read in the Motorsports forum, then you'll get a good idea of what is really good and what is not. Since you won't be racing anyway, you can get whatever springs you want. Enjoy the increased harshness and blown shocks at 25-30k miles.

Ok, show me a slammed Evo that wasn't bashed or insulted. I'd love to see it...

For instance: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ht=slammed+evo

Notice all the negative comments right there on the first page...one guy even says that should be done to a GALANT, not an Evo. How fitting, eh?

Whatever you want to call it, it's still "slammed."
