RPM Surge @ boost help please.
I am not sure if this is a n00b question but I searched for 2 days before asking for some help so if this was posted before sorry.
Ok about 2 months ago I get a 06 IX... and I have been super happy with it from day one. I took it easy for the first 2000 miles for a good clean break in. Now I have about 4200 on it and its all stock still.
So here is my problem about two days ago while driving when ever I would hit boost the RPM band would shoot up real quick about 1.5K almost like the clutch was slipping then drop back down about 1K and my acceleration would kick back up. Today I was driving it and now when the boost kicks in the rpms shoot up about 3K and the car goes no where then the rpms drop back down and resume boost and acceleration. I checked all the IC pipes for boost leaks just now and as far as I can tell there all good and tight (stock IC pipes by the way).
I never launch the car and only have around 4000 on the motor so I can’t see it being the clutch, but outside of that I am lost. My car feels crippled help please.
Thanks

I was searching just now and found a post to test the clutch by start in a high gear, if the clutch is bad then the RMPs will go up quick and the car will not go with the rpms, if its still good then it will accelerate slowly matching the rpms.
As far as this test is concerned my clutch is good, I started in 3rd gear from a stop and the car accelerates slowly matching the RPMs and then its starts to build power, boost hits, then it surges again?
I was just thinking I put gas from cosco (aka sams club) for the first time the same day this problem started. So could it be bad gas causing knock and messing up the timing?
Thanks
