Not to mention, there aren't any domestics remotely capable of handling corners, save for the Corvette, Viper, and Ford GT.

Furthermore, the STI is still made in Japan.
While the SRT-8 Charger is quick, it's still slower than a GTO with the LS2 in the 1/4 mile. Sure, the SRT-8 will move for a 4200-4300 lb car, but it's by no means a blisteringly fast car.
IF it was an SRT-8 it's probably one of a handful, because the majority are just the run-of-the-mill Hemi cars packing 340 hp. They run a blistering low 14 second 1/4 mile.

While the STi may be built in Japan the money for STi sold in the US go to the US branch of the company. It's easier to keep it within the country than transfer funds from country to country to keep things centralized.
yes a blistering low 14sec 1/4mi but still the car is faster (5-60mph) than a stock EVO or STi by over .5sec in R/T trim and almost 1.5-2sec quicker in SRT8 trim stock from 5-60mph and slightly faster 0-60... and for a 4200lbs car a .89 skidpad rating is amazing. 5-60 and higher speed acceleration is what matters on most highways.
R/T - C (not SRT8 it would be too expensive) would be an over all more practical car for cops to drive IMO over an STi (same price range if the R/T has the police package) because they have high speed *****, a large amount of room for equipment, and a backseat you can throw multiple idiots in.
LS2 GTOs w/ 6spd manuals run nearly identical numbers as SRT8s in the 1/4 (the SRT8 has seen 13.0s stock w/ different tires 13.2 on stock tires) and the GTO LS2 sees 13.3s on stock tires.
Not trying to pick a fight but just throwing out facts for you.
