Injen Race Division is for manual transmission and the short ram is for automatic/manual transmissions.

If you car is auto, the short ram is the only option, I've heard the Injin cold air tends to break, do a search, their are many threads on this topic.

actually short ram can be for manual also....but cold air aint for the autos....cai is supposed to give you more power since it sucks in colder air....but the risk of water ingestion is there....sri takes in more heat since it is near the engine but i doubt water will ever enter....i have the sri in my 5 speed and it makes noise like its supposed to i guess

Moving to the newbie forum. Read one of the many intake threads on the forums. There are about 3 dozen if only that many.

bla bla bla....i have injen RDCAI no problems and i have driven through puddles as big as rivers......no worries. I like it very much, it is my favorite mod so far. HP gains are not that great with the RD compared to the SR. Whatever floats your boat

hp difference isnt that much from the short ram and the cold air, probably around 2hp or so. i would just go short ram cuz its much cheaper, or even go rrm short ram cuz its the cheapest and offers as much hp gains as the other short rams on the market. thats what i did.

the cold air does have the risk of water ingestion, which isnt really a problem for me here in socal, but for you in michigan might be something to think about. i dont personally see a reason to go cold air. i had a cold air on my eclipse for a year, and for the last 5 months i had the car i had it as a short ram (took the cold air extension off) because it was raining, so it was a precaution. couldnt tell the hp difference at all and it sounded nicer as a short ram.
