well, not a complete n00b, but new to this site at any rate.

i have a 2003 Evo VIII, bought it used in Seattle on January 19th, 2006, then drove it cross country a week later to Groton, CT. i made a few stops, because they were on the way...like San Diego, Las Vegas, Omaha (visiting friends...why else would i go to Nebraska?), and all over Florida. yeah, basically i made a giant "W" across America. but it was a BLAST !

i'm friends with stew and a couple of other guys on this site, decided i should finally join.

Nice, I thought your car was gunmetal grey for a sec after seeing the first pic.

Did you remove the air intake? You might want to find yourself that part - you could be losing a lot of power pulling hot air in from the engine.

 

the GReddy UIC doesn't allow the air snorkel to fit. not much of a difference from having it on or off IMO.

Did you have to get a tune for that? I would imagine also that the different airflow characteristics might cause issues.

 

yeah, it's been tuned for that by TurboTrix. i asked them about it, they said it should have a huge impact as long as it's tuned.
i have an Injen intake, just been debating on putting it on, as i've heard many a times that the stock airbox is fine for <400awhp.
