Who daily drives their EVO?
if anyone buys a car and garages it all the time, why buy the car? i drive mine daily and any car that i buy i would drive till the wheels fall off............ its funny to think people are trying to save it as a collectors car.......nothin wrong with it, its just funny.............
We drive the Evos almost everyday (at least the Evo 9 ). I built the Evo 8 to exploit the maximum performance for a street mode and therefore the choice of cams where a significant factor. The spool up is paramount for me in a car, for that reason I am still sticking with the stock turbo.
For runing a car on pump gas, I am very happy with my current setup.

I also DD my car. It's great. It's everything I wanted 99 Maxima SE 5sp to be. My only complaint is I have no real complaints about my car. My other car I had 5 issue and they all have been addressed with the EVO. I guess the one thing I really miss is having a sleeper car. With The EVO every know it's sweet. That wasn't the case with the Maxima.
I still miss Mighty. RIP Blade_99se.
PS Mighty is a short for Mighty Max. A nickname for my old car whos name was Blade.

Though I have a couple choices to choose from I almost always drive the Evo on my daily 125 miles (round trip) to work and it keeps me awake in the morning drive on I5 and brings a smile on about 12 miles of twisties on the way.
I find that police likes to single me out and clock me on their laser or radar gun, even if I'm the slowest in the interstate. They would let the fast folks past me by then clock me just for fun or something. Weird. It must be evo-profiling.

Evos are fun DD, Got flipped off by a spoiled BMW Tops down B#$^ (female driver- no offense though) while driving my civic si, just an evo off day and ppl just pushes you around hehe. My woman got scared whenever i do a launch though hehe "it's not that fast honey, i'm only doing 0-60 on our 50 mph local speed limit!"
I DD mine, but I'm REALLY leaning towards getting an older Honda for DD purposes, especially for the Minnesota winters.
What is everyone's thought on this?
A) Spend $600-$1200 on winter wheels and tires and drive the Evo in the winter
B) Spend $2500-$4000 on a GOOD, clean, and reliable Accord or Civic and drive the snot out of it with VERY low maintenance costs, all while saving about $350 on insurance per 6 months and saving on gas in the winter months? Oh yeah, and protecting the Evo from the harsh winter..

Just bought mine 3 weeks ago and put around 1000 miles on it already. Great DD. Much better than my 240 that had no AC... If you want to keep it reliable and make sure it stays that way keep the mods to a minimal. I know there are alot of people on here that drive fairly heavly modded Evos daily, but just in my PERSONAL experience the fewer the mods the more reliable.

. Im gonna get another car soon though.
