also note that this is how i drive when i try to reach 250 miles per tank. and im a spirited driver but i was just dissapointed with my gas mileage compared to everyone elses, which is why i decided to try to break 250 miles per tank by shifting at 2k in the city and cruising at 65 on the freeway.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to get the best mileage that you can.. Anyhow.. avoid shifting at 2k for any gear past 1st. That's for the longevity of the motor.. The turbo still won't spool if you keep your foot out of it shifting at 3k, and you're in a more efficient rpm range for the motor. And please stay off the chevron!

are you saying that its okay to shift at 2k for 1st gear?

like i said i'll give the 2.5-3k shifting a try.

as for getting off chevron...i will once i find another gas station with good prices. the chevron i go to has their 91 for $3.19. if anyone knows of a better gas price around my area please let me know

Sure.. second doesn't take a lot of torque to turn and it's not a big deal. Did you check that thread I linked? If all you want to do is save money, then you might as well get costco gas. It's not good for your car either though.

I'm guessing it's the reflashes that kill your guys mpg?

I have an S2 ECU/SRI/WGA/MBC on my SRT-4 and my mpg went up at 70mph cruising out of boost to 33-34mpg (observed while driving from dayton ohio to chicago IL on I-75/70/75/4/47 with approximately 24mpg in the city. sunoco 94 ftw.

No. A good flash won't negatively affect your mileage if your style of driving stays relatively the same. The problem with bad mileage in those cases is usually the right foot.
