new parts causing choas! help...
ok so last weekend i put in the manuel boost controller and it was installed correctly and everything and we tuned the car for 18lbs. ran great well today i went to extreme motorsports and bought a bunch of parts one of which i installed tonight... which was the BOV.. now i instaleld the BOV and then boost shot up to 25lbs and i tried to adjust it up down turned it a lil and alot and it wouldnt change... all the line are hooked up correctly and there is no leak... any suggestions? the car goes in next week for reflash and dyno tune cuz i am putting all my parts on thsi weekend... any suggestions about the boost until i get it tuned next week? or is it just one of those ECU issues that the car needs a reflash for
Biggest mistake you made was buying something and getting tuned from Extreme. You are in for quite a ride with a huge bill, my friend.
You said you "tuned" the boost to 18psi? I don't think there was any tuning involved, since you say you are getting tuned next week. Did you mean you installed the MBC and SET the boost 2psi lower than stock?
What BOV did you install?
How do you know it's proper?
How do you know there are no leaks? Did you already do a boost leak test? The BOV cannot cause the boost to randomly shoot to 25psi from 18, so it's not the BOV's fault. The ECU also has no control over boost, because you have an MBC, so getting a tune is irrelevant.
Lastly, did you re-install the stocker, which by the way is one of the best possible BOVs for the Evo and should not be replaced until running 25+psi daily? If not, why not? If you think the aftermarket BOV caused the problem, then why not take 5mins to put on the stocker and troubleshoot it on the spot? That would take less time than logging on to EvoM and asking what is currently a vague question.

^^ What he said.
*EDIT* - seeing that Warrtalon got put in time out made me re-evaluate what he posted. Not sure if he got spanked for this post or not, but I should clarify my agreement with Warrtalon:
I have no opinion about Extreme Motorsports. I have no knowledge of Extreme, and therefore can't say whether they're expensive or not.
The rest of his post? Dead on.

ditto! being a former GVR-4 owner I know extreme charges an EXHORBATANT amount of money for their stuff. Keep the stocker BOV. I'm using an evo IX bov it it works great.
