Ls1 are great cars but I'd like to try something different for a change...Go import for once in my life. Weird because my family is a chevy family.
Yeah. From what i wrote the only real thing that could cause you problems would be the GT35r on high boost (32+psi), and maybe the nitrous if you dont know what your doing with it.

You could take that setup that i wrote with the GT30r and have 2 ecu maps, one for pump and one for race gas. run low boost with pump gas (22-23psi @ 420WHP) for daily driving and one for high boost and race gas (33psi@5xxWHP) for track use. that way you have a reliable 10sec car

As for parts i would Buschur and AMS all the way (www.buschurracing.com & www.amsperformance.com)!!

There are plenty of EVOs on the stock block making over 450WTQ. It really doesn't take too much power to hit 10s, a 50 trim could easily do it, but I do have to finally agree with Jasil on something. It's a lot easier to drag race a LS1 or LS2 than an EVO. If you make 500whp in an EVO, in theory you should hit 10s easily, but it's all up to the driver. There are a lot of 480-500WHP EVOs still stuck in the 11s.

Driver mod gose for all cars. I know of more LS1s and 03+ Cobras around here with 500whp to 600whp that cant get out of the 11's. Driver mods own most people...

So that's mostly horsepower mods. What do you need to do to the suspension to get the power on the ground? My friend has the 6.0 GTO and has a hard time putting down 390whp without spinning.

Before you buy slicks and snap your drivetrain in half look up what it will take to have shep upgrade your T-case and tranny. Its just insurance for the abuse drag racing a car will do to the stock drivetrain

Edit:
There is a reason AMS keeps their car a 2.0 and has a built head. IMHO for better trap speeds and times I'd think your better off for more rpm and less stroke. If you never build the head i guess a 2.3L will be ok though its going to limit your rpms.

It's not going to be a track car only...It's my DD, and adding displacement helps spool up the turbo faster so I know it should be good for the streets.

k here it goes
exhaust
cams and headstuds
injectors
gt35 (i like ams)
if you get a turbo kit like the one ams sells then it usually comes with intake o2 housing, and an exhaust manifold
engine management, either a stock reflashed ecu or maybe aem ems
intercooler and pipes i would go with the ams one
either race gas or meth/ alky
you should be able to run 10's with that but if you cant then a built block and head
oh and clutch and all of that other stuff
