Why evos are evil

people often talk about how evos are evil and stis are good, why? is it because in japan the yakuza drives evos while their police drives stis or because the evos are just plain monsters (performance/looks)? well this is my new car, and it seems to fit the name

the lights are off btw, looks partly like the terminator or something lol. so far it has 80 miles on it, still driving meticulously trying to break it in. i searched but can anyone help link me to threads on breaking in the brakes? Thanks!

You don't need to break-in the brakes, just take it easy on 'em until your 600 mile or whatever break-in period is over.

I would bed the brakes. They are high performance pads.

Bed-in:
10: 30mph to 10mph moderate braking then let cool for 15 mins
5: 50mph to 10mph hard braking then let cool for 30 mins
Full bed-in first ~1000 miles

Welcome to the Evolution - its a great car!

thanks for the welcome and the help =)

i got the car for 29.9 as advertised and i also got the college grad rebate. the car came fresh off the boat and on the lot on friday and i got it on labor day monday celebrated by hot dogs and hamburgers. everyone was very helpful and friendly so i gave the whole buying process a 9.5/10. i was helped by carlos and george so if anyone goes, you know they're good people to deal with. i got the last silver se they had, but they had a grip of ixs and mrs. car only had 5 miles on it so i'm pretty happy, thanks south coast!

What is this college grad rebate? I'm buying an evo from SC and I just graduated this past May, so how do I get that rebate?

mitsu website says the rebate excludes the evo, but if they honor it why not? just tell them you'll be a recent grad 6-12mo and you'll qualify. you just have to prove you're a student etc.

it's a weird feeling coming from an acura/toyota/mercedes family, but it's nice to be a part of the legend - the last line of the 4g63 bloodline.

would anyone recommend an alarm? i was looking at the viper 791xv, clifford 3.5 matrix and compustar but am not sure which one is the best.

My wife graduated from grad school last December. They gave me the college grad discount which was $500 because she graduated within the last year. She just had to fax a copy of her diploma to the dealership after the sale.

if you were to do the compustar... I would do the 900mhz (second from the top of the line)... I had the spread spectrum (top of the line) and did not like it... response time sucks, and it is a pain to deal with when the battery is low..
