What are the best first mods to make?

Okay, so you just got a brand new 2006 Evo IX GSR or a used but bone stock 2005. Got a good deal so you have $2000 in your pocket for mods. Assuming you want to make the car go faster on twisty and hilly country roads, what would you buy? What will give you the most bang for the buck if you're starting with a bone stock Evo? ECU flash? Coilovers? Big brake kit? Wheels and tires? Let's hear your preferences, but please try to follow these guidelines:

1. The mods can't be in clear violation of the warranty (no nitrous, sidewinder missles, etc).

2. They can't be something that would get you a ticket if a cop pulled you over.

3. The install process should be reversable to go back to stock later if needed.

4. If you have the info, please state the exact brand and model, and where each item can be purchased (phone or website).

5. Remember the goal is to make the car faster on twisty and hilly country roads, NOT at the dragstrip or autocross.

6. Lastly, I personally feel the first and best way to make a car go faster is to educate the driver, so assume that you have already taken several "high performance drivers education" programs and know how to drive your car well and safely at speed. By the way, the Audi and BMW clubs run the best HPDE programs, and they welcome Japanese cars with open arms. I know because I'm an instructor for both clubs and I drive an RSX!

Okay, start shopping!

Coilovers, ecu flash, sway bar/strut bar, higher oct gas, BC.
You may find some of these used (very little) for some savings and be able to get rotors or brakes.

On a budget... MBC, TBE, flash, rear sway bar. That's what, 330whp on the IX with more neutral handling.

All vendors listed in previous post are good.

I would get the IX instead of the '05, even if I had to spend the $2000 to cover the difference in price. Then I'd get a flash and an MBC, a set of KW's and some R-rated rubber.

Most dealers won't care about a tbe. MBC is easily changed back to stock, and ecu flash is practically undetectable.
