Add me to the list

I have a IX and was worried about blowing off a IC hose, so I bought all of the t-bolt clamps listed in the DIY to prevent losing a hose. Well the other day, I was boosting and getting ready to pull third when I heard the infamous boom and I lost a hose. The upper hose connecting to the intake manifold to be precise. It's an interesting feeling being in the middle of the freeway and not having any power anymore trying to get over to the side of the road while the car belches out a noxious plume of black smoke from the tailpipe. Worst part, I had no tools to fix the prob. So, I got real good after the third time I blew the hose off, at reading the boost gauge and making sure I was in vacuum before trying to shift. Lot's of fun. Moral of story, just because you're using t-bolt clamps, doesn't mean you are safe from the boost boom!

just tighten the Clamps down more. Thats why you change out the Stock clamps is so you can put the new ones on tighter, so the Pipes won't blow off. just make your Clamps tighete, but not soo tight that the break. you don't have to tighten the ones between the air box and turbo alot though be careful with the Clamp on the MAF and the ABV if its plastic.

don't you have to get your pipes measured for t-bolt clamps? I haven't used any before, but from what i've learned, you can't just tighten t-bolt clamps. maybe yours are just too loose? You have to ger your measurements before you order them. You can't just get them and expect to tighten them all the way. If I am wrong please correct me

My car is completely stock and my uicp blew off like the second week I had the car. Didnt even punch it or anything I was just crusing shifting from first to second and it came off...So I think the t-bolt clamps aren necessary stock or not. But then again it hasnt happen since so maybe it was just loose...

well i guess for the stock piping you don't have to get it measured out, but for aftermarket pipes, then i think you need to in order to get the best fitment. I have the xs hard pipe kit on my car, and i've been looking at t-bolt clamps. The guy thats helping me with my car had to measure all the areas where the clamps would go so that he would get the proper sizes for it.
