Hey guys just wondering whats the difference between a resurculating bov and one that vents to the atmosphere? Is one better for your car? and any suggestions on a nice sounding bov i should get would be appreciated. thanks

 

Venting into atmosphere = bad for the Evo. Keep it recirculated. If you want that swoosh sound get a drop in filter and you will hear it.

 

Make sure you do a search before asking a question like this, most people on here will tear you a new one for asking a question that has been gone over a million times. Always go with a recirculating valve.

your not gonna hear any difference with a drop in filter only an open element filter like the buschur cone or any other brand of open filter. a drop in will sound no different than stock.

 

if you want the whoosh! sound you can get a turbosmart or APS BOV they both recirculate and vent to atmosphere so you get the best of both worlds. i'm not to sure about the stock plastic VIII BOV but the stock IX BOV makes alot of noise with an aftermarket intake i was vey surprised!
