Why are so many people selling there evo ix's....
the evo is an awesome car. I haven't owned, or driven anything that does what this beast does. I have an 03 with 65k on it. No problems. Just got minor mods right now because I daily drive it, but I can see why people would get rid of it.
If you are not really into performance driving, you may not see the whole worth of the car. It's not a really livable car. ....and yes, maintenance IS expensive. Mobil1 oil changes, big tires, big rotors, pads, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, rear end fluid, iridium spark plugs, expensive insurance, premuim gas, and hard as hell to do clutch and timing belt (expensive if you pay someone else too)
The young guys that want them can't really afford them (cost of car+maintanence+insurance, etc) ...the guys that can afford them are older, and want something else.... like a street car, not a track car in street car clothes

People buy them because they're cool cars, and then after they have them they realize that they can't afford them or the insurance on them. 6 months later they're on the lot.
Everybody likes a sporty car, but what they don't realize is that sporty cars cost money, and money doesn't grow on trees.

This has been a great car (I have an 8). To each their own. Drive one, feel it, touch it, smell it, love it - own it.

Geez, I can't imagine spending $750/mo on a car payment/insurance. For that kind of money I could have a Z06.
im selling mine, not because i cant afford it (i have a benz also), but because it is not a practical vehicle for me, i am getting raped on insurance, and i honestly dont even drive it anymore, i have lost interest in it, so there is no point in having it anymore

Let's figure the car payment with $10k down at 3.9% financing -
60000
60 months
3.9%
= 1102.39 per month for the car payment alone which doesn't include insurance which is going to be a BUT LOAD more than the EVO. Oh yeah, and let's not forget to mention that the Z06 is purely a summer vehicle and should NOT be driven in the winter where the EVO can.
You should take another minute of thought before writing a bunch of nonsense!
BTW, I could have one heck of a nice home in Minnesota for $1100/month, I'll take the house. LOL
This whole thing about people getting into cars that cost too much in payments and to maintain reminds me of when I was 21 back in 1992 and was working 2 jobs to pay for a brand new Z28 I ordered from the factory. Alot of the guys I hung around with were making less money and pouring everything they had to buy an LT-1 Corvette at the time for $30k back then.
I see the same thing with alot of the EVO/STi crowd today...guys are just forking out $28-33k for a used/new EVO with 650-700/mo. payments, some are even putting $10k-$15k down when they should be thinking about saving that money for the correct investment like a new house first or townhome. I got caught in the same trap back when I was 21...wish I would have done things a little different, but you live and learn.
