New to Evos

I want apologize in advance for any stupid questions I may ask later.

As for my story, I am currently looking into getting a new project car and the VIII is on the top of the list. Right now I have a mildly modified 350Z (intake, exhaust, pulleys, sways, wheels/tires, etc) that has been nothing but problems. Don't get me wrong, I love the car but it has been a real pain in the ... whats your cursing policy here? I am on my 2nd tranny, 2 new window, 1 set of tires before the dealer "fixed" the feathering (alignment) problem from the factory, 2 pairs after the fix, 2 driver side seats, just blew a $600 fuse box though my electrical system is dead stock (2XX miles out of warrenty )...

So yeah, here I am. I am looking at either a GSR or MR (both VIII's), and need some help deciding. The only real reason I would go MR is for the 6-speed. The roof would be nice too but looking at factory advertised curb weights the GSR looked lighter still. Wheels/suspension would go eventually anyways, so no incentive there. What do you guys think I should do?

Just like you said, the only reason to go MR is for the 6-speed tranny, but other than that it's a coin toss. I mean if you want to spend the extra money for a 6spd go ahead, if not the GSR is perfectly fine.

What are your plans for the VIII?

The reason I ask is because it too can become an expensive project, you have to pay to play.

The Evo is a good choice though, you can't go wrong.

"Paying to play" is not something I have a problem with, I'm not new to the tuning world in that respect (unfortunately haha). Its the "pay to fix problems a properly and thoughtfully designed and tested car should not have" that gets to me.
