problem with boost leak test

I am having a problem doing a boost leak test. The problem I have is with my hks evc. When i put pressure into the cold side of the piping, There is a small hole in a black electronic evc box that i believe controls the wastegate.
Anyways when I add pressure the box leaks and I cant add enough air to hear any leaks.

Would taping the hole work or would I run the risk of breaking something?

Any answers are greatly appreciated.
AJ

nobody? I have a stalling problem when I come to a stop and I believe that it might be because of a boost leak somewhere between the intake and the intake manifold.

Thanks

when driving and comming up to say a stop sign the car will bog to ~200/300 rpms the oil pressure will drop very low and sometimes the car will die because of the symptoms. It didnt happen when I had the forge bov, but then again it was installed on backwards (bought it that way). Switched to the jdm going the right way and it starts dying. I havnt tried the forge installed in the correct direction.

i had a car that had the same symptoms...it was actually caused by a dirty throttle body...my rpms would bounce low "bounce bounce"...i'd have to rev it to keep it from dying...cleaned the throttle body and this fixed it...

don't think your bov is the prob. you don't have any SES lights? ...log the car anyways

oil in the intake is somewhat usual...blow back...might wanna invest in a oil catch can once you get this issue fixed. Hows the power ? ANy loss in power? Clean your maf sensor w/ CRC electrical parts cleaner

also can u bypass the boost controller...just to do the test again...plug the lines into each other...and try to make sure you have the same boost level you normally boost at eg 21psi...don't flood the system with 27, 30psi or whatever....
