Quote: Not sure where you'd get the idea that the Injen is the best bank for the buck when it is one of the most expensive intakes. You think $330-400 for very little WHP gains is "bang for the buck"? Bang for the buck to me is getting an mbc, boost gauge, test pipe, and mail-in flash all for about the price of an Injen intake but with 40 more whp.

Honestly just like everyone just told you, if you think that a $400 intake with some nice chrome looking pipe is going to be the best bang for your buck your wrong!I bought one for $400 put it on it made my car run like s*** so I took it off and sold it on here for $250, tell me thats not a big waste of money for nothing! Anyways the only thing your going to get of a intake is i.e the Injen is a pain in the a$$ taking your bumper off to put the UICP on and really no power gains. The only gains (still very very minimal) from UICP is one such as buschur and ams which reduce bends in the piping but also require a small battery kit in most cases. Do yourself a favor and get a MBC, TBE, and a flash as warr says and you will be happier with that then just being able to hear your b.o.v and your car running like hell.

HKS rs and Injen get my vote for two best intakes for evo but there are certainly cheaper and better mods to do to get power...

Best Intake for your EVO
I agree with the comments on the intake system - the stock box is good for up to 400hp - after that, the big intake system really has some benefit.

I did install the Blitz Indusction cover / LM filter and found that to be a good compromise between a cone type filter and the stock box. There was a noticble "kick" after instaling this + It looks great and sounds great too! For $100 including shipping, this was a great add.

I Need some advice on the following upgrades:

Upper intercooler pipes
Turbo Back Exhaust system
Rear Sway bar size and brand
Under car suspension upgrades

This EVO is being built for the Street and the occasional trip to the track for Autocross events.

Sick Speed

2006 MR - Greddy Front Strut Brace, Cusco Rear Struct Brace, Blitz Induction cover + filter, Hallman MBC with in cabin adjustment knob.

I purchased my car with an AEM intake/filter already installed w/out a flash and it ran great! No idle issues or loss in power that was noticeable. 7 months later I finally got my reflash after I got more mods.

I just got the Bushur racing TBE and it sounds great, besides being a piece of cake to install if you have any kind of mechanical knowlegde and a lift helps . Not much louder than stock.

The apexi box looks pretty easy to make with one trip to home depot and a rivet gun.....but I have seen tests on the filter and it does very well. But $250 for two flat pieces of aluminum is like paying 250 for 20 aluminum cans.....totally not worth it. Anyway if you are mechanically inclined at all and have a dremel tool shouldnt be too hard to use a cardboard template to make your own box. I plan on doing that along with a buschur intake, of course along with the much needed tbe, custom tune, mbc, and a walboro.

I have heard that the injen intake with the UICP is the best bang for the buck, running anywhere from $330-$400+ what are the gains of it on a 100% stock car though?

please post what you think to be the best for the buck, if you know the power gains, and the prices of it... thanks! this should help me decide what i want to get.
yea thats wut i got.. i love it.. seemed to me it made the turb spool a lil faster and made to stock DV come alive!!! i love the set up .. ummmppl say tune i havent yet and my car still runs great but dont get me wrong a tune is prob gunna come soon... I dont think ull b dissappointed at all.... but thats just me.. alot of ppl ragged on the kit when i got it...
