Gained 90 whp today!!

Along with 2 drive wheels ... =)

I traded in my '00 New Beetle 1.8t for an '06 Graphite Gray MR SE.

(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic ... I'll take more later I'm sure)

It took a little getting used to, but the switch from FWD to AWD is a nice change. I've gotten shifting and rev-matching down fairly well, but I'm still getting used to the close ratio gearbox. *shift, shift, shift, shift, shift ...*

The seats are AMAZING! Driving poistion is a little less comfortable than the VW due to less adjustment options .. the VW's have telescoping steering wheels and height adjustable seats. It is definately worth getting used to though.

I simply cannot wait to get past the break in so I can really lay in to to throttle and really "drive" this beast.

A little about myself:

I've been in the "Import scene" for around 6 years or so. My Beetle was slightly modded with chipped ECU, CBE, CAI, springs/struts and big shiny wheels. I've wanted an Evo since the Lancer first hit the states .. it was a big let down when I found that the Evo wasn't coming for a while.

I may have been one of the few people that never considered an STi. I love that the Evo has the same 2.0l motor that the rally cars run, while the STi had to step up the displacement to compete in the "real world."

I'm a fairly knowledgeable guy when it comes to cars. I learned alot while modding my Beetle ... alot about turbo systems mainly. All of the males in my family are mechanics. So, by default, I am too.

Some of you may have seen some of my posts here over the last couple of months. I try to give useful feedback to topics when I have something to add, and try not to "flame."

Anyway, i'm glad to finally own one of these wonderful cars and look forward to the many years of enjoyment I see in the future.

Sorry, just playin' man. I heard someone call it that one time and I almost died laughing.

Welcome to the club!

Congrats and welcome to the "club". Just on a side note, I don't think the posters before me realise that you are not a "man". I think you'll love the evo and there are a lot of great people on these forums.

Of course ... it's already in the paint shop for some ghost flames and a little flying guy on the side. Or, ummm ... not. I haven't liked the flames in years ... just didn't see a reason to spend the cash to repaint it.

Ya, one of those Hundais blew by my when I was leaving ... I was in the turning lane though so I'm not sure if that's a win for him or not because I think my blinker had him by half a car ...
