newbie kN typhoon intake ques.

I recently bought a typhoon intake from ebay. Its been a struggle with the junkyard I got it from because the only sent half of the intake. Anyway I just got the tube to complete the system but I have no instructions and no silicone couplings. How does the tube connect to the filter/heat shield? None of the pics I have seen show the back of the heat shield. I can deal with getting the couplings from somewhere else but I need pics or a good explanation. Keep in mind I haven't matched it to the car so if its a dumb ques with an easy answer sorry.

Everyone recommends not using that intake on Evos. Not sure what you need though.

do not put that junk on your car...no matter how tempting it might be.

ask around and people will tell you why.

Filling the stock airbox with concrete would be better than the typhony

Aftermarket intakes, in general, are a complete waste of time and money until your Evo is well over 400whp. Look no further than all the 11 second Evos running on the stock setup.

screw stock. Its all about customizing. oh and by the way I gained 11 whp with my buschur intake over the stock one, and that was before I got it tuned...... last #s I put down last week were 357awhp on 93oct @23psi with my current mods. the intake does me well my friend, plus it looks good

aftermarket intake is a waste without a tune, unless you go with a drop in filter

Buschur filter kit is the only exception to the "Don't get an aftermarket intake" rule. It has been shown to make good power with a tune and won't affect driveability if you can't get a tune right away. Any other intake is just asking for trouble without a tune.

Drop in filters are the best route if you can't tune your car as of now.

I was actually going to get the typhoon till I did a search on it here. So much problems with other evo's caused me to change my mind. I ended up getting a helix intake and hopefully when I do the install soon I won't have any problems. But yea toss it or sell it it won't be any good for you.

No trust me its not when I first got my evo last year I bought the same intake without researching . It made my car just run like crap, take it off your car and put something else on like others suggested. I replaced it with the injen and im happy. Good luck man
