Evo 8 Shifting RPM -> High MPG
Wish I had a boost guage.
Andy - that sounds about good, what is your mpg?
MEF - Didn't know that, about the clutch. Thanks. I don't know why, but 4k just feels like it is pushing it. Maybe that's cause I drove a minivan before, and its redline was 5k. lol I'm gonna see how just under 4k feels tomarrow.
Edit: lol, now I feel dumb. What you guys just said makes perfect sense. Is there a mod that I can do that'll tell me my current fuel usage (in mpg?).

+1 we posted at the same time GRRR :P at least someone else knew whats up!

17 yr olds starting to know there s*** =)

there we go, like i said " ALMOST FULLY " meaning if u have the same throttle position at 3,000 rpm compared to 5,000rpm U MIGHT, and im not even sure, MIGHT get like a couple extra FEET better gas milage, i doubt even 1MPG. its all about throttle position so be smooth and nice and your gas milage will inprove!!
that means all you guys that shift early, and hit the gas hard in low rpms thinking you can go fast and save gas by being lower RPMS. WRONG. your killing your gas! be nice on the gas pedal to achieve good gas milage
! AND IM DONE.

kid i was agreeing with you. YES. if your motor is rotating slower than the wheels due to the gear your in, its hurting the clutch.
Well actually the way he is shifting (below 3K) actually is very inefficient because after you shift you are below 2K, which makes the car bog. So you end up ahveing to push the throttle harder to get it moving. In other words being a wuss is going to cost you money.

So, this is what I've been doing mainly, and if someone has any advice, I'd love it. Infact, if somebody knows the gear ratio or what's it that would be perfect, that's good too.
N to 1st about 1.50k to 3.00k
1st to 2nd Shift at 2.50k
2nd to 3rd Shift at 2.75k
3rd to 4th Shift at 3.00k
4th to 5th Shift at 3.50k

oh one more thing, the turbo kicking in IS NOT BAD, it can actually be more efficent, than not. the turbo is meant to help the motor, not meant to kill gas. they actually help gas milage, unless your KILLING the throttle
