Sounds like you are suggesting other than HKS, if so what would you consider? I want to make sure that I make the right choice. I don't want to go back and buy something else because of some wrong info.

Iv never herd HKS in person. It depends on what kind of sound your looking for. When you choose an exhaust look at the muffler part. If its a round can looking one it will sound much louder than a standard muffler type. I personally like the deep/non raspy, no drone type. I chose Perrin myself. The pieces were all very nice, but it was a bit more expensive than avg. Allot of people on here are running Tanabe & HKS & love it. Most exhausts give the same amount of power more or less, as long as there all 3in. The only difference is sound mostly. With a TBE it will always be pretty loud though. Also the Perrin has a O2 bung on the test pipe & one on the cat back. This makes it nice for intalling a EGT/AF gauge down the road without welding. I can get a sound clip if you want to hear how it runs.

Exactly the kind of sound, and look that I'm looking for you have in mind is the same that I'm looking into. I took a look at the Perrin system and looks nice, made of the right stuff, and constructed in 3in full diameter. And the O2 bung is a plus. If I was to go with Perrin, is it a complete bolt-on system? No welding or cutting? And do I need to buy anything additional for the system? I'm sure you have already done the EGT/AF gauges, so any help in that area would be helpful too. And yeah if you could provide a sound clip that would be great along with any pics that you might have of your install (tips installing if you have any and just to make sure, the Perrin is compatible with the 06 MR correct?). Thanks for your help.

Interesting, didn't know that our tranny was different from the others. I'm now looking into the Perrin CBE it doesn't say on their website if it compatible with 06 MR. Unless you know that it is, I'll send an email to them to see if it is.

It is 100% compatible with the 06MR. To answer your questions it is a direct bolt on, no cutting or welding or anything. The only thing I had to do was this. Because of the 6spd. tranny, the downpipe is a little close to the 2nd support beam under the car. When I put the exhaust on, I spaced out the support beam with 2 washers on all 3 brackets. This way under flex/load it never rattles or anything. The exhaust tip will stick out about 1inch further than the stock one, this is nice because the bumper does not discolor or anything. I'll get a sound clip today or tomorrow for you. It sounds like a deep 2.0 WRX. Also, make sure to get the test pipe with the cel. eliminator. Its very easy also, I can give you a step by step walkthrough on the phone or in PM. Hope this helps.

Awesome, glad to hear that it is, especially since it sounds like a WRX, they sound mean. Yeah man if you could shoot me a PM on a walkthrough that would be great. If I have any questions or concerns, I'll give you a call. This helps a lot and I appreciate it, thanks again.

Cool! I'll be keeping an eye out. Also what were the size of washers that you used for the spacing?
