whoa weird!
Not rich at all, and it doesn't cost money to do anything I said. It costs $30 to autocross, wow. I've raced my Evo constantly for over 2 years now with no engine problems. I burn through clutches, but that's a wear item and is expected with 250 drag runs, 100 autocross runs, and 500 minutes on the road course. You don't need to do all that - I'm just saying to go WOT a few times a day.
it's a car have fun with it don't treat it like a little school girl
no car is meant to be babied...what fun is that
I ripped on my car at least once a day...you have to mix it up...honestly I think driving it like a fairy 90% of the time is probably bad for the car...you never get things flowing at 100%

Wow...never full throttled it??? I full throttled the test drive evo rs hahahahah thats the reason I wanted an evo in the first place.....if you didnt know how fast it was....what was the reason u bought it??? thats a serious question too not a bash.
i know how fast it is...i have been at full throttle.....i don't treat my car like a dirt bike and go wot all the time ...i don't want to be spending money on things like clutches, piston rings, etc..... i mean i get on it sometimes....but not every time i drive the car....you guys on here have serious ego problems....just chill out...take a break man....you don't have to be gung ho all of the time to be cool
by the way ...2 years on an engine is not a long time...try 15-20 years

Love how you changed your tune and are trying to act cool about it like you actually do boost around. We know you're FULL OF IT, because you didn't even think your car went higher than 0 psi in 1st and 2nd gear. Don't deny it...just because you deleted your comments doesn't mean we forgot. You actually thought you had a boost leak and were going to go ask Mitsu to test your car because of this, so we KNOW you don't ever drive your car properly. All this crap about not wanting to repair the motor is total BS. In fact, you're more likely to have problems with blowby due to NEVER boosting.
i said changing at 3500rpms the boost didn't get above 0 in 1st gear....man just shut up......whatever dude...you're the man....i suck....your the evo god that spends all day on this site and i know nothing...i was just talking about driving the car normally and the boost not kicking in as easy in the lower gears....but whatever you want to think man....of course if you floor it to 7000 rpms the boost is going to kick in in any gear....i thought that because it didn't boost as easy in 1,2,and 3 that yall were saying that i had a boost leak
but whatever....i guess this forum isn't for help or info...it's for bashing...they should start a forum called bashing.....
anyway not driving in the boost is not going to hurt your engine at all....heck you could even take the turbo off of the evo and the engine would be fine....just go for a drive and look at all of the other cars out there that don't have turbos (which is just about all of them)....all a turbo does is give it extra power...you can put a turbo on just about any engine....engines are all basically the same as far as engineering.....just because you have a turbo doesn't mean you have to use it all of the time....in fact that's probably a bad idea
if your at the drag strip or track or whatever then fine....use it...but i don't race....my evo is just a daily driver so i only use the turbo sometimes...so what if i never shift at 7k.....who cares....why do i need to do that?....so i can be macho and say look how fast my car goes?.....man who cares...there's always going to be a car out there that is faster
but whatever....i guess this forum isn't for help or info...it's for bashing...they should start a forum called bashing.....

i don't think anyone on here wants to help anybody dude....they always find something to bash you about and you totally get off of the subject that you were talking about in the first place.....man....i've never seen such bad attitudes before.....oh no...you capitalized your words....that's a evo forum crime so we will not answer your question.....lol.....man this place is wierd.....uh oh...you're new...so we won't answer any of your questions...instead we will just give you a hard time.....man i hate people that forget where they came from
Point #1, driving that easy on the motor is NOT good for it. I've had my Nissan for 10 years of hard driven miles and it doesn't miss a beat. You just have to take proper care of it (warm up, cool down, try to avoid short drives/take a long drive once a week, change fluids relatively often). Driving the car too easy promotes carbon buildup and oil sludge.
Point #2, why did you buy the Evo again? Because you like the idea of having the power and performance? Honestly, you could've bought a Honda Civic Si for a lot less, still drive it faster than you currently drive your Evo, get a lot better gas mileage, be more comfortable, have a nicer interior, cheaper replacement parts, have cheaper insurance to boot, and be perfectly content. Hitting WOT in 4th, 5th, or 6th gear doesn't count as you're probably only going 70mph and you're not pushing the car at all. Using 6th in the Evo, you can get the same rate of accelertaion (well, faster probably) in said Civic by using 3rd gear.
I hate to tell you, but you seem to fall into the catagory of: new doctors and lawyers who go buy a porshce/vette to look cool but don't drive hard, people that drive huge SUVs by themself with 24's, etc. Basically, you're driving a vehicle for which you do not use it for it's original design intent. It's like buying a Z06 and only going WOT in 6th gear. What's the point?
So logic would say.... either start to actually drive the car harder, or buy another car and save a ton of money (did you notice how much replacement parts like brake rotors cost??!?!?!?!)

the civic si does not have a lot of power...and for the 100th time i never said that i never drive the car hard.....don't tell me how to take care of my car...i have a 1988 toyota truck with over 300,000 miles on it...i think i know how to care for a car....let's see that's about 19 years now...so it seems i have the upper hand on your nissan
and you guys on here wonder why mitsubishi doesn't want to honor the warranty on an evo....it's because they know that most people rag them out and race them all of the time....no car is going to hold up for a long time if it is driven like that....i mean racecar engines are rebuilt or replaced several times a season

Obviously, it's your car and you can drive it however you want. However, your definition of 'driving hard' seems to differ from ours (which involves going as fast as possible on road coures, auto-x's, and also using that power responsibly on the street, etc.). My point was that driving the Civic at 100% of it's capability is the same, if not higher, than the percentage of the capability of the Evo that you seemed to imply that you use. Now if you're goal is to reach a certain performance 'level' while not having to use a high percentage of the car's potential, then you have what you wanted.
Actually, one of my friends recently bought a Mazdaspeed 3 and it'll do everything that you want for a lot less than the Evo. The MS3 has quite a bit less lag, better bottom end (where you do most of your driving), nicer interior by far, and has ~90% of the handling while riding more comfortabely, for 10k less.

stop picking on the poor guy, and lets aplaude the car sales person who suckered this guy into buying an EVO instead of the $14000 NON-turbo lancer that he in mind when driving to the dealership. i bet you that sales person is still laughting....
people here are usually very helpful but im sorry this has to be the most ridiculous/stupid/dumb post i have read since i started going into car forums years ago
kilgoja, Your right no one on this site has any clue about the evo. Give me a break. You come on this site asking for advice then don't beleive anyone about what they say about the car.
