If you bought an VIII get a Walbro 255 fuel pump first! Turboback exhaust, either drop in filter or cone filter, O2 housing, manual boost controller, AEM wideband O2 sensor, and a tune were the first things on my list. A IX blow off valve or aftermarket BOV will be WAY better than the stock plastic one. It wont hold but like 15psi or so. Also a quality lower intercooler pipe will help too. These are all cheap mods that collectively total less than $1000 if you are patient and find stuff on here.

Didnt have any money to do anything once I bought it.....but after a few hard launches and a broken rod later I got a fully built 2.3 motor. Wasnt much of an upgrade in power but the reliability and strength factor was up there.
