Typical Evo IX Problems

What are some common or possibly not so common problems with the Evo IX's. I know alot of people are worried about voiding their warranties with aftermarket parts, but a new car shouldn't have too many problems. However I don't yet own an Evo and was just wondering what some problems people have encountered that required warranty work aside from oil changes and stuff like that.

Some of the cars are purchased by inexperienced drivers.

the speakers/doors rattle, service dept doesnt care about your car so inspect it before and after you get work done, paint wear off painted parts inside of engine bay, bumper turns kinda yellowish from exhaust, some gas pumps you have to hold the nozzle funny to pump the gas, and thats about it for a stock evo.

it's hard to say ...it depends on how you treat it...if you mod, race, etc. stuff will break....there is some guy on here who is stock and has 150k with no problems so it comes down to how you drive and what you do to your car

2000+ miles so far and no problem...

actually!

the only problem so far was getting my first speeding ticket going 90+ in 65 speed limit. Why? Reason: late for work

Worst:

1st speeding ticket in what ? 2 or maybe 2 1/2 years. I used to drive a Mazda 3 2005 and i used it as a trade-off value to get my Evo IX and I never got a speeding ticket and I've been driving the same way all along... so i guess it's the infamous fame of the Evo :P

plus:

the police stopped me the other day for not having my license plate... I was like I have not got them in yet the car its brand new jsut bought it a week ago and he asked any mods in the engine? and i replied what? so he asked me to pop the hood so i did, he looks at it and then says thank you dude bye...

end of story

Within a few weeks after adding power you get bored of it and want more.

14,000 miles not a single problem.
Too damn fast, and makes you feel like the superhero - that you're actually not (!)
Addictive like a drug.

People asking questions like "What kind of car is that?" and "Does it make that "pshhh" sound?"

Haha...any car at any price will have a couple quirks about it. I just bought my car with 2500 miles on it (they still considered it new because it was sold for about 2 and a half weeks but never titled). Anyway...the car has some very minor rattles when I go over bumps--the front dash in particular makes a "snapping" plastic noise on both foremost corners when I hit bumps, and the driver's seatbelt harness rattles as well. Outside of that the car is great (so far).

From what I hear the clutch is weak--especially if you mod the car. But I've not experienced that yet either.

All the consumer reviews will tell you the car is great--almost every driver will tell you the same thing. It's not like a Honda where it has a 1000 rattles, tranny problems, etc.
