i need help on what to buy

i dont know much about evos but i know that they are faster than what i drive, a 2005 altima se-r on spray, and i need to know what is better for racing at higher speeds the 6 speed or the 5 speed? i am looking to get one at the end of the month.

Seems most drag racers use the 5 speed. The 6 speed seems to be weaker, but you also have those like Warrtalon that uses the 6 speed for drag, road racing, etc. You way want to look up the gear ratios for the 5 speed and 6 speed and see which one better suits you.

i hope you meant drag racing at the strip.... as for your question, there are a bunch of threads about 5-speed vs. 6-speed transmissions if you search. if your going to go for drag, go with the 5-speed. if your gonna go for daily driving, go with the 6-speed.

im just looking for a car that can keep going after 110. the reason is i raced a guy with an sti and he pulled on me till 110 which is the end of his forth gear and i started to catch up. i just dont want my next car to be like that and i was wondering if the evo did this and if it did if the 6 speed helped keep the car going. by the way this was at the Texas Mile, it was legal

a evo with cams regardless of tranny will pull much harder up top than a stock turboed sti...throw some alcohol injection or race gas and forget about it...

Why buy something you possibly have trouble affording. This car calls for money when **** start wearing away. And it wares away rather quick.

No joke. I can afford my car. However, I didn't want to afford it as much and as often as I have. Don't anyone get me wrong. I wouldn't trade my Evo for any other similiarily priced car because I love my car to death. It's just that I wasn't expecting my car to require so much so soon. I've only had the car for 13 months and I've racked up 30K exhilarating miles. In the end, I think it's a well-worth tradeoff for the sheer joy I get from simply driving. Merely driving to work and back is something I enjoy very, very much. My Evo drives me.
