I'm pretty bummed out..

at quiting time today I went to the parking lot and found that someone had backed into the side of my drivers door.

Of course they did not leave any note whatsoever. The damage is not too bad but it's the principle of it all. Sigh.

I chose a prime location, away from the activities and still this happened.

I will send out a company wide email tommorow offering a reward of $500 to find out who did this. I already contacted the police department (my employer has it's own Police Department - ain't Texas great) and they said there may be surveilance video covering that area.

PS: I absolutely hate folks that mess with others folks vehicles. If I ever serve on a jury on a trial involving car thief and stuff they are going to be so found guilty.

Anyway end of vent. I'll keep you Guys posted.

That's horrible; it's a shame people can be so irresponsible sometimes. Good luck with the repair and hopefully there was a surveillance tape so you can catch the jackass who did it.

I've seen cameras here and there and not sure about total coverage but the Officer I spoke to said that the manpower to review the tapes would not be approved for a small incident like this. So I will try to go in on my own time on Saturday to watch any tapes that may cover that area. It happened between 1pm and 4pm so I have a somewhat narrow window.

I don't feel liek diving the car anymore. I know this will pass adn I will get confident again but I just shiver when I think of what would have happened had I caught the person that did it trying to sneak away.

So be careful Guys, not everyone has pride of ownership and care like we do.

Good Lord, I would feel so violated if that happened to my car. Like being robbed, and not being able to put a face to who did it to you. Sorry to hear that, bro. Hope you find the people who did it...

Damn that sucks dude,...sorry to hear about your misfortune. I'm always paranoid when I park my car at the mall. My buddies laugh at me...but it's all good. The evo deserves to be treated like a Ferrari. In essence she's a poor man's Ferrari.

thats a pretty small ding man, looks like someone swung a door into it.

Yeah, it sucks, but whoever did it may not even have noticed. If you sent out a reward email for that ding people at work are gonna think you're postal.

I have no problem with whatever perception coworkers have of me. I am just trying to catch a felonious criminal. Hit and run is a felony in Texas is it not? If this person gets comfortable doing this who is to say they won't do the same had they ran over a person in a dark alley?

It's not a door ding and whoever did it must have known because the mirror also folded and I have tire burn on my rocker panel.

I have no symphaty for hit and run crimes and careless drivers.
