from what i've heard, it makes the car more fun to drive on winding roads and turns with a rear strut bar...my question is though, does it matter if you buy the expensive brand strut bar or can you just buy 'em ebay rear strut bars? does it make a difference which one you get or is just purely just for the brand?

I think the strut bar will stiffn up the rear of your car not the suspension but reduce the body from twisting. I think

I would go with the gt spec trunk cage or the works one. It comes with the strut tower bar and two drop bars and a trunk brace. It connects at 4 points in the trunk

Here's one of my favorite pictures from Road Race. It shows why you should always buy purpose built stuff, instead of eBay APC junk bars.

it sure looks like those cages do their job... but is that a little overkill on the street?

what about this one? prob not as good as the cage... and still overkill for street?

I don't think it's overkill for the street because strut bars don't compromise ride quality and/or comfort. With the cage set up you might lose some trunk space but that's about it.

Depends on how and where you drive.

what about this one?
Unlike the Works and GTSpec cages that install to factory mounts, the Cusco requires one to drill holes in the body.

That must be a weakened or really crappy ebay strut bar. I bought one on ebay for 20 bucks, weigh more than that guy and stood on my ebay bar with both feet and it didn't even move an inch.

Often overlooked, especially on vehicles that are reaching higher levels of modification, is the importance of reinforcing the chassis. All vehicles experience flexing of the unibody under various handling loads. Twisting of the chassis is also very common on higher horsepower vehicles.

The SUSTEC UNDERBRACE prevents this unwanted behaviour by connecting specific points of the undercarriage to reinforce the chassis. Unique internal double-i-beam construction is highly rigid, and lightweight, so the chassis may be significantly reinforced without adding surplus weight.

Noticeable gains in balance and stability are gained after it's simple bolt on installation.

by the way you don't really need that stiff strut bar and deffeniatly don't worth 10 times more money ! I don't think you ever will go for real race. But if you go, you will change the suspension first ! the e-bay one is for street racers are fine. Don't waste money ,put that $ 200 some where else in the car .Like swaybar...those strut bars usually going for over $220.. for that money you can have swaybar and strut bar,so you will get better handling for the same money.
