Well you see, it's really quite simple. The SE only has 5 speeds where as the MR has 6 speeds...

Why only have 5 when you can get 6 for a little more money??

 

MR is heavier bro. Its slightly slower in the 1/4 but it does handle well. But i think that if i spent the 3k extra on the performance that it would outperform the MR.

 

It's the Spinal Tap argument, "...but these go to eleven."

 

for some reason that makes me think of a mountain bike....LOL

 

if you're going to autocross the Evo, get the SE. the 6spd doesnt have as strong of gears as the 5spd.

 

..and this is why I bought an SE, the better bang for the buck. But again, the $3k I saved I will gladly pay now for the 6 speed.

Despite what you read on here, not everybody here is looking forward to undoing what the Mitsu engineers spent countless R&D hours to perfect. Some of us are quite okay with the stock Evo.

Sure even if I drive the space shuttle I'll probably still be asking for more power..

 

Even w/ stock. I'd go w/ an exhaust. That WONDERFUL NOISE. and tunnels make it worth it.

 

Well, I guess I'll just go and see what kind of a deal I can get at the dealership. I got a job offer which I'll most likely going to accept, and I'll treat this evo as my graduation/getting a job present

 

save the three grand and dont get the MR, only real diff is the 6 speed use the money on mods!!!!!

 

I'm perfectly happy with the stock drivetrain in my IX and I like having a warranty. It'll be a long time until I can outdrive the car as it is, if ever.

On a serious note.....I think the only car I would ever buy and NOT mod would be the veyron, lol. Everything else would get at least nitrous and exhaust
